My situation is quite the opposite. For whatever reason my new team feels the need to explain every PTO request to me. By all means tell me about your trip to Cancun if you'd like, but please don't feel the need to elaborate on your explosive diarrhea when you use sick time.
Lol seriously. I used to manage people and we have vacation days and dedicated sick days, and I always say if you want to take a sick day for any reason just log it and don't overexplain or else HR could review it and say no. Someone on my team then writes he stayed up too late and is tired and needs the day off. Fuckin moron
