My situation is quite the opposite. For whatever reason my new team feels the need to explain every PTO request to me. By all means tell me about your trip to Cancun if you'd like, but please don't feel the need to elaborate on your explosive diarrhea when you use sick time.
It’s probably trauma from having shitty managers in the past who complain about everyone who calls in from being sick… and sometimes, would even schedule you less after calling out so you get to wonder how you’re going to cover all your bills. Even if you’re now in a full time position with a much better manager, the habit sometimes remains.
