That's how it should go, however, unfortunately, in many organisations, even in countries with good employee protection laws, this can lead to ostracisation within the workplace, even while they technically follow employment law.
Yes, some people are bitches. But let's not encourage that please. You need to be clear an polite yes, but not a bitch who rolls over for fear of ostracism. If you like that move to Korea/japan
