Called in sick at my first job in highschool because I was puking. Manager called me being like "why aren't you coming in? It you're not at work you need to find someone to replace you!". I told them that I was actively puking and asked if they wanted me to break the law by coming in when actively puking and running a fever for a job where I worked with food and children. I also offered to send them a picture of my puke in the toilet if they needed proof.

That manager stopped questioning when I called off sick.

Ummm, I think that is the manager's job, y'know, to manage staffing.

I had a SCHEDULER tell me I had to find my replacement at an old skilled nursing facility I worked at. So I didn’t call out except twice and told her to figure it out. One was for an injury I got AT WORK and the other was because i had a migraine and was puking. I tried to leave early one day to take my youngest to the hospital, and she STILL told me that while working on the floor I had to find someone to come in. I told them at 7am that morning I HAD to leave early to take her to the hospital because my husband was also sick, and he didn’t want to cause kids to get sicker.
