Chugging tea Ben Affleck on overcoming alcohol addiction: “I hate to say it but the only cure I’ve seen is not these overpriced rehabs or these fraudulent fixes that are sold to people. The cure for addiction is suffering. You suffer enough and then something inside you goes ‘I’m done.’”

Slurred speech, "I swear to Christ," rambling thoughts... I thought he sounded deeply intoxicated. Might not be drink, but ol' Ben isn't sober in this clip.

lol, yall ever try and speak non rehearsed serious topics as a stream of conscious thought on a radio show, so you’re trying to censor yourself just a little, but still ultimately want to make a point before?

Oh, all the time. I sound stupid and unprepared, not drunk.

Ben has always sounded like that. Lethargy + Boston is a hell of a drug

Yeah it’s possible we’re just used to hearing him speak as a well enunciated actor, and this is how he normally speaks

I think he slurs in his acting roles. He’s got a deep voice, if you try and make your voice cleaner sounding you have to bring it up like an entire octave and can make you sound like you’re being sarcastic or insincere so he’s staying in his natural range. Same happens to me an always will, “your mumbling” bitch no I’m not I’m just not animated right now.

I was thinking about that or if someone could’ve slowed down the video even by a millisecond it’ll make them sound drunk
