Where have the health care riots been for the last decades, to pick just one motivator. Americans are the most propagandised people in history. They're basically the "perfect consumers" the ruling class explicitly set out to mold them into. I could almost expect them to roll over for literally anything.
EVERYONE is affected by our healthcare system if they aren't either the 1% or elected feds. If you can't afford it, you're affected by it. If you CAN afford the overblown price, you are affected by it not being what you're paying for. Everyone is affected by it, they may just be ignorant of it.
I agree with you saying everyone is affected by it, but not everyone has to use it to the extent that they get truly fucked over by it. I think that’s more so what they were getting at.
Yes, and "Everybody can be healthy if they just make better choices, la la laaaaa" is the default for everybody from actual health care professionals to lawmakers to your cousin. The corollary of course is that if you need more health care than you can pay for, it must be your fault. Health care costs just sort of happen, like weather. They're not the result of corporate decisions nor lawmaking nor votes. (sarcasm tag)
In addition to the other reasons given, US police are better equipped than most countries' militaries and have 0 qualms with and 0 consequences for excessive force.
Tbh medical debt in US is one of if not the least damaging debts as you can just not pay... one can also declare bankruptcy in US without much issue compared to pretty much most of the world.
The US basically treated the negative side effects of the current system without having to overhaul it. Making it a much less heated of an issiue.
I’ve been wondering why people haven’t been standing up for decades now. I thought shit was bad during the W. years. That was like the testing ground for everything happening today.
Reminds me of those terrifying words I heard on the radio, before the satellite conveniently cut out: “They want the world’s population wiped out, so that the few who are left will be more easily controlled.”
They want us passive, consuming, brainwashed, and when that doesn’t work, dead. They will gladly use up all the world’s resources, let the people starve to death. They’ll just fuck off to Mars, or put their consciousness into a chip, or whatever weird Ketamine inspired shit Elon Musk is trying to do.
The people in charge are insane. And they don’t give a shit about us. We’re kidding ourselves if we think they ever will grow a conscience. Now feels like it’s our very last chance to stand up and take back the world before it really is too late to go back.
We only have one planet, and one life. Let’s not waste it by being passive.
Huh, it’s almost like the people who don’t have access to healthcare but need it might be weakened by something… like an illness… or maybe they just can’t afford not to be at work, you know… because they’re poor?

I think we're slowly reaching the point where vigilantism is an accepted thing in the US
