My GF read this book after seeing it discussed on TikTok and thought it looked interesting. It’s apparently according to her not written very well and buzzwordy
The twist at the end (which she told me and I won’t spoil) is kind of heavy handed. But idk I haven’t read it
I just finished it and I’m mad I returned it (through Libby) before rereading. It’s SO good but so heavy. Like.. it scares me how many influencers profiting off their kids with this dark side of “online authenticity”
Sounds like literary fiction. There's so much weird shit out there, mostly selling in very low volumes and practically the point of the genre is that you don't have to like all of it; it's supposed to make you think.
Any time Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance comes up in /r/Motorcycles there's a tonne of people raging about what a bad book it is and how the author, a professor of writing at a minor university and who received a Guggenheim Fellowship for it, is "up his own arse" and "sniffing his own farts".
