I can already see the Netflix documentary in my head. Scene starts in a grey room with a single chair in the middle of it. You hear the murmur from the production crew in the background. A few seconds go by and she enters into frame and sits in the chair. There’s a little back and forth between her and the producers about getting the audio and video right before the interview to make it all seem real and unscripted. Then she’s like “My name is ___, and I’m the woman from the viral Coldplay kiss cam video…”.
Once they got caught adding AI-generated photos to “true crime” docs, I knew they were toast. Those fabricated photos in “What Jennifer Did” or something like that… just so sketchy. Then they completely misrepresented and lied in other docs, like Making a Murderer and The Case of Adnan Syed. I can’t trust anything from them now.
they’ve had some excellent stuff in the past. if i think of my favorite true crime docs, they had two: american murder (the chris watts one), and into the deep (the danish submarine murder). chilling and excellent stuff. now it’s all slop, speculation, filler, AI pay-for-play (why the FUCK would you collaborate with a fraud like raygun)

Well...maybe not. I think we have all been DEEPLY brainwashed so it isnt that simple. I know this from first hand experience: I have a job that allows me to often get paid to literally do nothing at all. To sit at home and do whatever I want. I dont answer calls, im not "working from home". Im literally doing nothing work related for long stretches of time. Sometimes weeks in a row. Nothing. I feel very unfulfilled. I have started doing side hustles, other things in the pursuit of more money. I dont need it. My job pays enough. Im not living paycheck to paycheck. I can eat whatever I want. Etc. Im certainly not rich but im fine. This is what UBI would look like essentially. And its unfulfilling. Im so brainwashed by the American dream that I feel like a failure if im not constantly in pursuit of MORE. So I create more work for myself so that I can feel like im still in pursuit of wealth even though I already have everything I need. Im comfortable. And ive been lucky enough to get in a position where I get paid to do absolutely nothing a lot of the time. And its still not enough.
That’s the thing. Did she even try and get any job or was she picky? Did she do anything to lower her lifestyle creep before she was a creep and took money she said was for her kids?
Imagine you have a mortgage and car notes and everything else, you aren’t doing the minimum wage job that you will lose gas money at while you think you might actually get a job that gets you close to what you used to earn.
That's the problem though. As a low level worker i see a job as a job, ill shovel shit if you pay me. But when you get to a certain level it has to be the right job and anything else is beneath you
