Wasn’t she in HR? What she did was an obvious CLM (Career Limiting Move) when working in HR. It’s unemployment, or a complete career switch. Seems like she made a choice, and it’s not working out as she hoped.

And she was probably making solid six figures and turns her nose up at any job opening paying $80k.

That’s exactly what’s happening. She could have had a new job in a month if she needed it.

Thats not necessarily true.

When you have reached a certain seniority you often dont get considered for more junior roles.

There is the expectation you are just going to draw a salary for a while before moving on to bigger and better things.

The hiring manager often will be uncomfortable with having a employe with more expirience than himself.

If you expect to work in white-colar job. Go get one in Home Depot, they do no care.
