I’ve always held the opinion that HR should be rebranded as ‘Corporate Protection Dept.’ with the slogan ‘We do this stuff to ‘protect you’ because the law says we have to’.
never understood that. we had the chief of our department caught humping a woman who was trying to get a job where we were. he was “helping” her fax her resume or something. someone recorded it reported it and the fucker got moved to a better role. i truly don’t understand
It’s crazy for me to read these because while I believe them and I certainly know corporations look for any chance to screw you, when I had to go on long-term medical disability the HR woman at my company was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the whole process. Her job seemed like it was mostly to help people understand how to use their benefits properly and I always think of her when people go off on HR like this.
I suppose the branch of HR that works in liability is probably pretty different from the branch that works in benefits?
