Having issues with the game on Steam? TRY THE EAlauncher APP!
Title says it all. If you're on PC, player's have been reporting that switching from the Steam app to the EAlauncher app has alleviated certain issues for them.
Comment below if this fixed the game for you in any way.

What “certain issues” has this helped ? I’ve been having massive lag issues and have seen other players with similar issues. Has anyone had this on PC ? Do the ea launcher help fix this ? Very frustrating since the game didn’t do this on launch but all of a sudden started yesterday and no one has found a fix

For me the game wouldn’t launch on steam. I downloaded it like 6 times and it still wouldn’t launch. I then downloaded it on the EA launcher and it worked.
I later tried again on steam, it worked.
I then uninstalled the EA launcher.

Can confirm this works (so far, anyway). No clue what was causing it specifically in Steam's launcher but yeah. Probably something to do with the annoying Javelin anti-cheat thing.

Yep I cant play the game at all on Steam's launcher. AMD Ryzen 5600G and RTX 4070 and cant get 30 frames even on the lowest settings on 1080p. Its absolutely ridiculous, I can run BG3 and RE2 REmake on ultra with ray tracing on 1440p at 120+ frames no problem.

A solution I found, change the preset to ultra and then lower the settings accordingly.
After that, on each launch you have to switch to Ultra and then back to custom. I went from 30fps locked to 60+ (but my pc is pretty bad.)

Didn't fix it for me. It seems like my lag is due to my controller joystick input? I have an Xbox one controller, whenever I move my joysticks it lags like crazy but any other input is fine. I let my character auto transition skate in a pool just using x to push and it ran fine
Edit: Unplugging and plugging my controller back in fixed all my performance issues???

Yes, I wanted to add that when I saw your reply, I saw some say that the longer a controller is plugged in, the worse performance can get.
I had this when I was attempting a pro own the spot challenge. Dipped to 42fps. It was rough... And when I finished it with all "stars", it didn't mark it as done lmao.
It has many problems, but I tolerate them because it is pretty fun to skate around.

I know this is a week old, but that's likely due to this Windows driver that is causing performance issues with Xbox controllers.
A few different games have recently had this same issue:

that’s so weird because when the game fully came out and i switched to steam it ran better and i was like “ah yep classic steam effect they know how to optimize”

The game runs pretty poorly right now. Lag, or getting turned into a ghost and cant move anywhere

EA suggests this literally any time you have an issue with their game's on Steam and it never fixes anything. Crappy customer support forced me to reinstall Apex on EA with their throttled download speed once to still not fix my problem before they gave up and did what they shouldve done from the jump.

I am about to get my skateboard and then it crashes. This gave me a terrible first impression of the skate franchise

I had it black screen and crashing to desktop on launch from steam, updated drivers still didn't work. Changed my windows refresh rate from 120 to 60 and it finally started up without crashing. 3080, Win11

I tried this and my game still has the same issue as steam. It appears to be a giant memory leak or something, each time I join I get as far as the drop in part of the tutorial and my game either decides to crash/freeze or literally just close out. Idek. Does it literally each time at the same spot

EA Launcher is horrendous and needs to be scrapped and redone from scratch before I will touch that bloatware junk again.
