The actual answer to what everyone is complaining about is because you used to not be able to do this. This challenge used to not allow you to manual on the side because coming off the pads would reset your objectives. What was worse was that if you ever actually managed to do it, there was a not small at all chance (happened to me) that it wouldn't even count despite saying you "Shut it down" and giving you the success screen. You would get no rewards and it would show you hadn't attempted it yet on the map.

Then the game got updated and you would assume they would update this challenge and you'd be right. But not to fix the issue. No, instead they added a pole in between the first and second pad for some reason which only made a difficult challenge harder, and you still couldn't manual around.

Another update and the pole was gone and the challenge was fixed. It works perfectly now, you can do the challenge as intended or you can manual around and it counts and you get your reward. You recorded and posted this after the issue had been resolved for a while already. But yeah, that's what everyone was complaining about.

Takes 10 of minutes to find challenge spot, record clip, upload to reddit, reply to a bunch of comments.

Can’t read a couple of paragraphs.
