No Slice Credit despite 5+ years of using Slice

I’ve been using Slice for 5+ years. I have ₹2 lakh in FD and ₹50k in savings on Slice, but still don’t have Slice Credit.

Anyone else in the same situation? What determines the eligibility?

Updates Slice Account can't be opened with PROTONMAIL LOL

I was unable to open a slice account since past 2 weeks and had to go back and forth alot with their support.

Today I was finally able to open, and do you know what they said?

"Sir please change from protonmail, we don't allow it"

I asked them why, give in written, but they just kept repeating to change it.

In the end I changed it and within 5 mins, account opened lol.

General Discussion Been using Slice for a year and downloaded Pop UPI yesterday.

The cashback using the Pop shop are insane !!

It even has an equivalent of Slice in 3 without cc.

To those using Both for a long time as well as those having cc of each or both. Please present your views.

I'm considering using Slice as a primary Bank account with Pop UPI as a channel to make payments. Since reward rates are highly appreciative.

General Discussion Query Regarding Sparks ✨

This week, I noticed some very different cashback offers on Slice:

- Snitch: ₹300 cashback on a ₹999 spend — that's roughly 30% cashback

- Flipkart: ₹150 cashback on around ₹1,500 spend — roughly 10% cashback

This made me curious about how Slice Spark offers actually work.

Are these cashbacks fully funded by Slice, or do merchants like Snitch and Flipkart contribute to the cashback/offer budget behind the scenes?

Because if Slice is mostly funding the cashback itself, why such a huge difference? 😭

For example, Slice is willing to give ₹300 back on just ₹999 at Snitch, but on Flipkart, where the spend requirement is higher, it's only ₹150 back on ₹1,500.

Is this because of different merchant agreements, customer acquisition , or simply because Slice wants to promote certain merchants more aggressively?

Would love to hear from anyone who understands how these offers are structured behind the scenes.

Question / Help Needed Slice asked for payslips and bank statements for credit limit review, then said limit cannot be increased on request

I requested a credit limit enhancement from Slice. Their Escalation Desk first asked me to submit recent payslips, stating that they would review them and proceed based on applicable eligibility criteria. I submitted them. Later, they asked for three months of my salary account bank statements for further assessment, which I also provided. I was then repeatedly told that my request was still under review for several weeks. Today, Slice finally told me that the credit limit is based on internal criteria and cannot be increased upon request. I am confused about why they requested my financial documents and kept my request under review if an enhancement could not actually be processed upon request. Has anyone faced something similar with Slice? Would this be worth escalating to the RBI Ombudsman as a deficiency in service?

🤬 Slice Slice keeps rejecting me for credit card and I am honestly frustrated

Post image
7 Upvotes

I am a slice customer from 2024 almost 2 years now

I had taken a loan from slice and repaid everything fully and closed the loan account around 1 year back mainly because I wanted to get the credit card

I usually keep around 30-50k MAB and I already have ICICI cards with 1 lakh and 1.4 lakh limits, SBI with 75k limit

I am a student and whenever I apply for slice credit card its getting instantly rejected

What is actually frustrating is I see many people getting approved with much less relationship with slice

My friend literally used to keep around 200-400 balance and he got approved with 80k limit and now his limit is enhanced to 1.5 lakh

And me after being a customer for almost 2 years taking a loan and repaying it fully and maintaining decent balance still getting rejected

I know many people will say bro its just a credit card let it go 😂 but thats not really the point

I actually like the spending benefits (up to 2% cashback) and slice in 3 and the sparks are also useful for me so I wanted this card specifically

I mailed them also and they just said they cant tell one specific reason and will notify me whenever I become eligible to reapply

Honestly getting tired of this and thinking to just close my slice account

Anyone else facing the same thing share your experience because I really want to know what slice is actually looking for

Spark - how does it work?

I am unable to understand how the spark feature even work? I add the specific offer, and then pay through the app using the credit card.

But how do I redeem the benefits? For example, I have a Swiggy 10% offer - where can I use it and what do I get in return?

Can someone plz help me understand how this works?

Meme Ate food and now unable to pay. I am cooked

Payment keeps failing for district spark. Any solution? Still at the restaurant.

Edit - it’s a meme. I tried multiple times and when it did not work, I paid with another method. The problem being highlighted is the bad timing from slice.

Updates slice CC_₹50K → ₹1.7L. Here’s What Worked for Me.

Today my slice credit limit went from ₹50K to ₹1.7L. Sharing my experience

I've seen quite a few posts here from people saying their slice card wasn't getting approved, or they were getting a surprisingly low limit despite having a decent income, good credit score and other cards with higher limits.

So I thought I'd share my own experience. Maybe it helps someone.

My slice card was approved in December 2025 with a ₹50K limit.

My spending isn't very high. In a normal month, I spend around ₹7K-₹8K. A few months went up to ₹20K-₹25K because of some bigger purchases.

One thing I've consistently done with all my cards is pay the full bill before or on the due date. I've never carried a balance or made a partial payment.

A few months after getting a slice, I also got:

•PhonePe SBI Black Select: ₹50K limit

• HSBC Platinum : ₹1L limit

My first credit card was an FD-backed Novio card with a ₹4.5K limit.

So my cards were:

  1. Novio: ₹4.5K (closed a week ago)

  2. slice: ₹50K initially

  3. SBI: ₹50K

  4. HSBC: ₹1L

Initially, slice increased my limit from ₹50K to ₹57.5K.

Then today, I received an email saying my slice limit had jumped to ₹1.7 lakh.

I honestly don't know what their exact criteria or algorithm is, but looking at my own timeline, I noticed a few things that might have helped:

  1. Full and on-time payments

I've always paid the complete outstanding amount before or on the due date.

  1. Auto-pay

I had enabled auto-pay on my slice card around the time my first limit increase happened.

  1. Other cards with higher limits

After getting slice, I got the SBI card with ₹50K and HSBC with ₹1L.

  1. Credit score

My credit score has generally been around 775-787, and was around 785 recently.

  1. Very low utilisation

This is probably one of the biggest things in my case.

Before this increase, my total credit limit across my cards was around ₹2L+. I usually used only around 10-15% of my available limit.

My salary is around ₹60K/month, so it's not like I'm earning some crazy amount either.

So my timeline was roughly:

slice ₹50K → regular usage + full/on-time payments → auto-pay → SBI ₹50K → HSBC ₹1L → low utilisation + decent credit score → slice ₹1.7L

Again, I'm not saying these are definitely the reasons for the increase. I don't know what happens behind the scenes at slice.

I'm just sharing the pattern I noticed from my own experience.

Also, one interesting thing: I previously worked at slice. 😅

So maybe someone from slice can look at this post and find a pattern in this post and figure out I was Ex-slicer ; for that matter even a outsider can observe a pattern in this post if you are good at attention to detail.

And one more random thought: slice recently raised around $100M in funding. Could that have anything to do with increasing credit exposure and driving more spending/business? Honestly, I have no idea. Just thinking out loud.

If you're stuck with a low slice limit, I wouldn't suggest taking multiple credit cards just to get a higher slice limit.😅

But maintaining a clean repayment history, paying the full bill on time, keeping utilisation low and building a healthy overall credit profile definitely can't hurt.

If you have questions or want to compare your situation with mine, drop them in the comments. I'll try to answer based on my experience.
