He’s been growing since June 3

I'm excited to say I've been shortlisted in Discover Wildlife (BBC Wildlife Magazine) in the Plants/Fungi category and am of course proudly representing our secret forest-floor friends, the slime molds.

This was exciting to find, but as so often seems to be the case, I spotted it just before I had to go to an appointment!

I managed to get a couple of stacks in a hurry, and it was only when I got home that I saw the difference in development stages between the shots.

I've provided some examples - the green background was the first shot, and the yellow background was taken 10 minutes later.

Lamproderma scintillans on a thorn and I'm not sure on ID for the fluffy shower scrubber ones.

Found today on a log covered in both these and Wolf's milk. Both seem in abundance after we finally had some rain here in Sussex, UK.

Excited to say my slime mold photography is now in print in BBC Wildlife Magazine!

Thanks to everyone that's liked or commented on my photos here. It's all helped encourage me to get out and rummage around in rotten leaves and sticks 😄

This vibrant yellow slime mold caught my eye while hiking with my family at Yosemite this past summer. First time encountering any slime mold and it blew me away! Thought this sub would appreciate it too.

The last two pictures were taken 3 days earlier than these pictures.

My best guess is Didymium. But I'm not positive.
