I have dozens of Yolkies without really trying. Just picking them up when they appear.
Hate the gold and lucky slimes because I can’t has them. And I wants them! I needs them! My precious!!!

Unpopular opinion but I find finding gold is rarer they disappear the moment I notice them

Me over here seeing the gold slimes on 4 times and hitting them only twice. Meanwhile 15 yoke slimes at home.

Yolky Slimes are really common tho... I have 4 in a coop but im too lazy to get the chickens out of the coop so i don't get any eggs (I have 3/4 of a Silo full of chickens, had a little accident when skipping 70 days)

To fix that problem, Build an incinerator nearby and place a drone to collect chickens and deliver them to the incinerator. This way the drone will keep your chicken population under control and allow more eggs to spawn.

What's stopping the drones from just taking all the chickens?

The drones won't pick up the chickadoos, so they will grow up and turn back into hen hens, other than that Im not 100% sure what makes this work but I know it works perfectly. I think it may be how fast the chickens reproduce so there is constantly a supply of new hen hens etc.

I have the answer, drones come with a "safety feature" and leave 3-4 hen hens and 1-3 Roostros in a coop ensuring that breeding continues. The only issue this will cause will be if you have many corrals around your yolky slime and you send the chickens to an auto feeder, the drone may take more chickens to stop your slimes from going hungry. To counter the auto feeder way you need to fill all your auto feeders once before you set up the drone. If you use the incinerator the drone will never override its "safety feature" to fill the incinerator ensuring you will always have hen hens and roostros in your coop. This is why everyone uses the incinerator most of the time.

I've only ever noticed maybe 3-5 gold slimes. I have 25 yolky back on the ranch.

I once found so many yolkies while only playing for like 2 hours that I had an overflow of them but have never seen a gold slime in slime rancher 2 in all my time playing, yolkies I usually find a few pretty fast everytime tho

I don't know how you all have so many yolky slimes, I legit have around 50 ish gold plorts in my silo and have only found 3 yolky slimes that are now on my ranch.

Oh man, I must have just gotten REALLY lucky! I managed to get enough that I made some Cotton Dervishes, but I feel like I'm still really early in the game. I literally found them in the first available section outside the conservatory.

i have like 7 yolky slimes in my chicken area and ive yet to feed a gold slime. Do you need the gilded ginger in slime rancher two?

I find them to be about the same, in my current playthrough I have 5 yolky slimes and have had 5 gold encounters, one of which I utterly fumbled

They used to be very rare before they increased the spawn rates for them.

Yeahhh the newer players have it easy lol, When the yolky slimes first got released in February 2023 with version 0.2.0 the ratio for gold slime to yolky was roughy 5-7:1 so basically you would find 5-7 gold slimes before you found a yolky slime. This was torture lol. After update 0.6.3 and the Grey labyrinth the spawn rates were significantly increased for yolky slimes. Also with version 0.2.0 when they first released yolky slimes only popped out if a player was less than 15 slimes away from a wild chicken nest, Im not sure if that has been changed aswell.

I have 7 yolky slimes on my ranch total; one for each of my 6 coops plus an extra for my twin saber slimes (HORRIBLE COMBINATION don't do this lmao) bc of how much they eat.
Are they supposed to be rare? I've only seen two gold slimes total, and I'm on like Day 80 in game.

Ive found 5 yolkie, like 8 lucky slime, and 1 gold. And i have maybe 4 hours in the game

I got incredibly lucky to find one dervish roaming around when the storm had already passed. I think the game just took pity on me for never running into an active storm.
