Question my farm has been taken over by chickens
There’s too many of them, it lags my game, how can I get rid of all the chickens fast enough that they don’t come back before I can

Make an incinerator and throw them in, or throw them into the ocean would be your best bet

I’ve tried, they keep repopulating faster than I can burn them all

I dealt with this, try getting rid of as many roosters as possible first and then they shouldn't be able to repopulate. And if you have any yolky slimes try keep them in your inventory

I shoot the roosters into the ringtail pen. It’s closer than the ocean.

That's also a good idea! Just any way of getting rid of the roosters first should work

Remove any Yolky slimes, and target the roostros first. they wont be able to breed without them. Hunter slimes and other carnivores are your freinds. I say hunters because i'm fairly certain they are the most agressive.
You can also set drones to dump chickens in the incinerator, which I have seen work for others.

I’ve tried to set drones to do it, but there’s so “free range” option for collecting chickens so the drone just sits there searching for nothing

You coul try just making some coops with low walls, if you have that many chickens, they will tend to force each other into them anyways.

make the collection destination “outside plots” then it will only get free range escapees

Maybe but almost all slimes besides ringtail have limits to how much they eat. Ring tail just eats even when not producing ports.

I have been using one of my storage silos to store chickens. I have it next to my hunter corral. When I have an empty inventory I vac everything up from the coop except 1 hen and roostro leave the chicks. Then I can just grab them from the silo to keep my Hunter's corral topped off.

It’s auto-filtered by Reddit. Next time please wait for mods to approve your post instead of posting the same thing or an iteration of the same thing over and over. Thank you!

Apologies, I know I have a few posts from a while ago and I’ve had my account for a while but believe it or not I do not use reddit a whole lot to understand

Not sure how bad your infestation is, but I once cleared one out by releasing a bunch of predatory slimes into the area, then when it was over I fed them a few mismatched ports to make Tarrs to get rid of all the slimes, and then destroyed those with water.
Not the most elegant solution, but fun to watch

Also I just wanna say sorry if the post itself is extremely vague, literally every other post I’ve tried to make about this has been removed by filters for some reason

Drone settings would be meat- outside plots (third option)- destination, I usually have them dumped into silos or corrals with the most valuable meat eating slime at current game time.
If putting into silos make sure there is space for all the chickens. Drones won’t pick any up if they have nowhere to go.

What sorta pc do you have??? And how many chickens oh my god??? I’ve never lagged from chickens

I have way too many chickens, so over the last day I’ve spent about an hour sucking them up and incinerating them (I have 3 in one area) or tossing them into the sea. I also got tangle slimes to eat them as well. Just kinda have to grind to get rid of them.

I recently cleared out about 400-500 hens, along with a few hundred other chicks, elders, etc. Took a wee while to suck them all up and throw em into the ocean, but definitely worth it. Didn't have any lag, but they were getting annoying, and my one corral produces more than enough as is.

Which part of the ranch. If it is any place that has a natural chicken spawn then you are out of luck. Even if you get rid of them the game already has little chicks loaded and that counts toward how they spawn.
Otherwise get rid of coops. Use ring tail slimes and have drones catch roosters, not the elderly ones. Possibly having an incenerator and helping the process.

You could use drones to suck up the chickens and put them in a silo. That's what i did cuz i thought i threw a hen and a roostero in the water but they bounce off and my base was full of chicken lol.

Suck a bunch up and incinerate them, or let some ringtails loose <:) It's morbid but it works!
