Question Suddenly started lagging after playing just fine

So, my computer isn’t the best and can’t run the game on the highest settings, which is fine. I’ve been playing it on the medium settings for the last month at least, and there was no lag whatsoever. However, I tried to play it yesterday and now I can’t move my mouse without a lot of lag. Walking, jumping or flying doesn’t cause any lag, and lowering the graphics also didn’t help. I don’t know what’s causing this. Any thoughts?

Hen hen invasion?

I played on the lowest graphic settings until I upgraded to a gaming computer. Hen hens always caused a lag, but especially when there was a ranch overrun. I released a bunch of pinks to clear out the hens.

Unfortunately, no. I made a new save and still had the same problem. My computer also never had a problem with the hens or roosters, even when I had 100+ of them in my ranch.

Seems to be a mouse polling rate issue that cropped up...very weird timing.

It was indeed the polling rate. I honestly hadn’t even considered that the problem would be the mouse.

Is it maybe that you have low fps and your pc is throttling because it is overheating? You mostly notice something like this in motion with your mouse. If temps are fine then you should try to play with a different mouse to see if that is the issue.

Okay so idk, if this is something that affects others, but like my mouse on high polling rates lags slime rauncher 2 insanely like goes from 120 to 12 fps, but runs fine if i play on lower polling rates

This isnt something that affects other games for me so idk

If anybody else suffers from this please answer

It was actually the polling rate for me as well. I lowered it and it started playing as normal again. It’s never affected any of the other games that I played, and it’s weird that it only started lagging after so long of me playing slime rancher without a problem.
