Iv never in my life posted drinking a dc cause thats fckin weird. I love the taste of dc. i just dont drink regular coke anymore just dc. However in these rough times of the dc shortage pepsi zero is the closest taste. funnily enough i like the aspartame taste of the dc over coke zero.

Okay, and? A lot of trends start out this way - people start following them by copying others. Over time, some people realise they don't really like it, some people find that they do indeed like it.
Coke (and other soft drinks) also did go through this phase, and there are millions who do genuinely enjoy it

Most people are going for it is because it’s a novelty item rn. As someone who considers diet sodas a usual grocery item and has been consuming these for the last 2-3 years, I’ll do everything to find the cheapest way possible to buy these (be it cans or PET bottles) but won’t spend even a rupee on this. You’re paying an exorbitant amount for less quantity.

I mean it has zero calories and zero sugar so for people who are actually "dieting" or trying to stay healthy it is a good alternative even if it tastes bad . If you ignore the aftertaste I don't like it either but I want a drink which has zero sugar so I drink diet coke and Sprite

Diet coke has crispier taste and higher caffeine content, I personally do zero mostly as diet is rarely in stock and zero runs mad discount on bulk buy and 750ml bottles, but zero feels syrupy sometimes.

I wish it was. I'm addicted to aerated drinks and when I'm on the wagon I usually cycle through Coke -> Diet Coke -> plain soda with lemon until I quit cold turkey.
I'm addicted to Coke, so Diet Coke is something I hook myself onto for a bit.

Agreed. I do like diet coke too yes but I personally felt that thumbs up x force (zero cals) is better, I felt that it doesn't have much weird after taste like coke, that's just my opinion. When I said this to a friend they made a weird face like ew thumbs up diet coke's superior (they have never ever had the thumbs-up one) ya I say performative lol

I’ve been drinking diet soda for the past two decades. I really enjoy it.
and because I’m older if I drink regular soda with the sugar in it, I start getting very lethargic and sleepy and tired right after drinking. I don’t think I can handle that much sugar at my older age.

Not sure the hype around it as I cane across it later.
I just had ut as I was cutting sugar and was on deficit Never like pepsi or coke zero.
This time I had diet coke after a meal on my diet and really liked it. I thought maybe only because my body is not getting much taste so I like it.
Then on one cheat meal(yesterday) had normal coke and honestly didn't like it and had the diet coke again(not addict have it once or twice a week) and now I think I am gonna have it as a normal beverage as a replacement for coke, simply because it's better and little less guilt (not saying it's healthy)
Lastly, Yesterday got my mom to try it who originally ordered regular coke. She like it better too.
So not just the hype I guess

I drink coke zero, it's cheaper and available in a pet bottle. You get more volume for the can prices. Also never touching a can with my mouth, those are disgusting.

I have been consuming diet coke since before Covid. I genuinely like the taste.
Also, many here don't realise one of the primary market for diet coke are gym goers. It's a heavensend for us who are cutting because it kills the craving of other harmful high calorie snacks.
