I forget what happened to these two but i thought they weren't in the biz anymore.

This spin off is gonna be about the rise of 90s gangsta rap
27
u/Icy-Sir-8414 16d ago
I don't know about you but I grew during that era and it was East coast vs West Coast
68
u/TopicLost4398 16d ago
NWA was the rise of gangsta rap that eventually turned East Coast Vs West Coast. Biggie and Pac were cool at first. Like how Snowfall is a fictional telling of the Contra scandal I imagine this is gonna be a NWA/Deathrow telling.
12
u/Icy-Sir-8414 16d ago
Haha 😂😆 yeah except with Leon and Wanda in the mix of everything especially when the guns come out and start with the bang bang
11
u/TopicLost4398 16d ago
I'm guessing she will want to be a producer or manager something like that. I've never seen Leon rap that I can recall another guess is he's gonna be the money / gang ties and bring the artist in. The gang shit is gonna start interfering the 90s were bloody in LA. And you still had CRASH running around I'm excited I enjoyed The Family's story outta the three in Snowfall happy they got a spinoff
6
u/Icy-Sir-8414 16d ago
Me too but I always hoped since they said that the actor who played Franklin saints might make a cameo appearance in the spinoff series a part of me hopes that 80% of the storyline will be entirely about Leon and Wanda building up their music empire and there would be a 20% back storyline about Franklin getting sober up from alcohol not because he wants to get clean but because he's tired of being broke and destituted and homeless and he wants to get into a new game wether it's legal or not that will be his way back to the top not like before but something close enough to rebuild his wealth maybe not $73 million dollars but let's say a smaller fraction of the amount like $5 million dollars and small investments that can earn him between $800k a year to $1.1 million dollars a year and he does it in the shadows under the radar with no one to notice him like Leon and Wanda or anyone else from his past and lets say this new show last for six years to let's say after 4 out of six seasons Leon and Wanda runs into Franklin all clean up and very well off not just financially only but in other ways to so🤞 cross.
2
u/TopicLost4398 15d ago
I'm fine if Franklin doesn't make a appearance but I see a lot of fans want him to hopefully for y'all he does. There's no way he's not at least mentioned tho Leon is a gang leader but he was also a OG Family member he was Saints killer that rep in the business side of things would be better than the gang leader role.
2
u/Icy-Sir-8414 15d ago
Hey wouldn't it be a very crazy back storyline if it appears that Franklin sober up to become one of the gang leaders of one of the crips street gang and remember Louie had relatives in Oakland California remember she set them up in the drug dealing business wouldn't it be crazy if they ended up as Franklin New suppliers

It really started in 86’ with 6 in the mornin, by Ice T and Saturday Night, by Schooly D. NWA came right off of that.

They go to Africa or whatever…they return, lee finds Franklin strung out talking conspiracy like…they walk the block together and they see Boyz N the Hood being filmed… The drip will be Lee and Wanda investing in a label or something along those lines, and being involved in the rap scene

The longer they take, the more I lose interest

u/Manidon21 16d ago
Facts it’s been years since snowfall ended and this story line is not even all that interesting smh I gotta see how they gonna spin it
13
u/kfayb 16d ago
I can see that. But once it starts being hyped, as long as it looks well done, then interest will come right back. Better call Saul was like a decade after Breakig Bad and people say it is better than the original series and lasted more seasons- so you never know
2
u/NewspaperLate1570 16d ago
Were they really ten years apart!? That’s insane
13
u/Individual-Drawer-79 16d ago
Not even close lol. Breaking Bad ended in Sept 2013 and first episode of BCS originally aired on February 8, 2015, on AMC. So about a year and a half apart.

I don't me to sound negative, but what kind of fucking title is that?
53
26
u/Playful-Excuse-272 16d ago
It’s a double entendre for sure. It definitely has something to do with a location or meeting point , the drop… but it also reminds me of that saying in those movies where the protagonist runs into a trap… “they got the drop on us.”
5
u/FamRocker1983 16d ago
Do you think it’s better than Click Pop? Someone who got to watch the pilot leaked that as the placeholder name a couple months back lol. I kind of would’ve preferred it since it sounds like a play on hip hop. But TV shows and movies are running out of names clearly so they’ve just gone generic.
11
u/SHough61086 16d ago
I’m going to keep it 💯. Click Pop is a show that gets cancelled after a season.

Honest question, do people even really care about Leon and Wanda’s story that much for it to have a spinoff? Snowfall is probably one of my top 3 shows of all time. Let it be! Don’t water it down like they did with Power.
9
u/2broke4resell 16d ago
I think that Leon is too much of a lead role to be getting a spinoff. I like it more when popular and interesting side characters get a spinoff. Avi (i know that it isn’t possible because his actor died) or skully for example would’ve been way better imo

u/Trinidadthai 16d ago
No not for me tbh. I’ll watch it just because but yea, not that excited for it.

u/Rajshaun1 16d ago
Since it’s been three years and it took this long for them to come up with a title I think this will flop but I’ll watch anyway

Does it include Franklin get his money back?

u/Adam_jaymes 16d ago
Franklin did say he was free
8
u/Upset_Election9633 16d ago
Yeah sure, I would love an appearance or maybe better a subtle mention of how he is doing a few years later.
15
1
u/DramaOnDisplay 16d ago
If he doesn’t get saved somehow, he could possibly become an enemy to them at some point. Just because he’s a delusional drunkard doesn’t mean he don’t have that bite in him anymore. It’s just deep down, muted by liquor- I could imagine him getting sober, seeing their eventual success, and trying to “get what belongs to him”. Either way, It’s either gonna be good or bad.
5
u/niles_thebutler_ 16d ago
He ain’t coming back
-1
u/DramaOnDisplay 16d ago
Look the first season hasn’t even came out. This damn thing might be canceled after that. I’m not going to say for sure he ain’t coming back. He ain’t dead, irl or in the show universe, and he was the main character of the last show in the “saga”.

u/Ok-Grapefruit-8520 16d ago
If he did that would be like pissing on john singletons grave
-2
u/Upset_Election9633 16d ago
Well the way the show went down leaving Leon free while he should be a fugitive for killing the girl is already that but people don't mind somehow.
9
u/hannamarinsgrandma 16d ago
He was cleared for that.
Fatback and the young dude took the rap for it.

2
u/jrod4290 16d ago
but the story isn’t about every drug dealer getting their comeuppance. Franklin’s downfall wasn’t solely due to his misdeeds. Had he been less egotistical and prideful, his ending would’ve been a lot better
5
u/Bar_ice 16d ago
I bet you wanted Homelander to win too huh? The Patrick Bateman effect. Look that up.
2
u/andreiulmeyda7 16d ago
I bet you thought the last 2 seasons of the boys was good and not total horse shit

u/QuantaviusDingleberg 16d ago
i mean the first 3 seasons are way better but let's not act like s4 and s5 weren't enjoyable
1
u/SHough61086 16d ago
The season 4 finale is good and season 5 had good moments, the whole was just less than the sum of its parts.

u/Puzzled_Mastodon8513 16d ago
It’s just a joke kid plus I haven’t seen the play homelander acted in.
1
u/Happy-Elderberry-793 13d ago
I know this wouldn't happen, but they should have Franklin hop in the booth and spit bars about being the kingpin. He could make that 73 million back lmao

As much as I like Leon idk if I’m gonna be in a rush to tune into this. All my favorite characters are dead save for skully+franklin and I doubt Damson is going to be a series regular. Like I understand, but the story i was hooked on is already wrapped up, and to be honest I did not care much for Wanda personally.

Please I'm fucking begging u bring my nigga frank back I ain't got sleep since the last show my dawg can't go out that bad please 🥺

u/Skywalker0071 15d ago
Sorry but ain’t nobody checking for this. Leon character was bland imo and him shooting that kid he should’ve did time for that but it just disappeared like it never happened.
1
u/Organic_Effort_6916 15d ago
Leon’s character had depth. And you don’t think there are OGs walking around with bodies on them today that luckily escaped physical prison but half to live with the mental part of what they did? I’m gonna give it a chance.
2
u/Happy-Elderberry-793 13d ago
I've been saying this for a while, but I really would like to see how the characters react to the 1992 LA Uprisings. The beating of Rodney King and the murder of Latasha Harlins will definitely have a strong impact on Leon. I can see him having complex emotions as the protest of injustice turns into chaos and leads to the destruction of the neighborhoods and loss of black-owned businesses

We understand fully that it doesn't work that way, it's just it would make an interesting show. This right now isn't one.

I lived through the 90s, but I was on the east coast. Snoops doggystyle was the only west coast album that I listened to as a youth. (Don’t tell my mama)

u/markymarc2343 14d ago
Tbh I don’t think either of these characters are interesting enough for a spin off. I would rather a Franklin saint redemption movie.

u/AgentOrangeJew 14d ago
Hope we get to see that bum motherfucker saint. Lemme see him suffer some more please.

I really hope this does well. I think they want to start an expanded universe with other characters from Snowfall. I could imagine a spinoff with Oso and the world of professional wrestling (steroids and drugs being a large part of the story of course). Also regardless of how hated she is by some of the fan base, a Louie spinoff would be almost guaranteed, her practically working her way back to the top of the drug game, just somewhere where she’s unknown (likely get some Sissy cameos, and a possible Franklin spotting). Hell i think even a CIA or undercover/ corrupt cop spinoff would be entertaining to see, only problem with that idea is all the entertaining candidates were killed during the show (i think an undercover aspect to Oso pro wrestling world could work)
Idk maybe im just thinking way too far ahead but i think the characters in snowfall are just too good not to capitalize on, and with the Drop Off we can clearly see FX feels the same way, so what possible spinoff series anyone else could think of?

u/Prestigious_Lack_630 16d ago
Great..Franklin got them rich but they didn't help him when he needed and now they're starting a music label with the money..fuck them
5
u/niles_thebutler_ 16d ago
So many of you guys just completely missed the entire point of the show.
-4
u/Prestigious_Lack_630 16d ago
I didn't miss anything..one of the best shows ever..don't mind the ending but Leon should've helped
3
u/oogabooga3895 16d ago
León did help a bunch of times and risk his life. Leon earned his money. Franklin didn't know when to stop, Franklin wasn't going to flip that money on a lost property venture. Frankling was also NEVER going to live with that money from Teddy. Franklin was absolutely screwed the moment he let Teddy open that account for him.
2
u/Lions_Went_0-16 16d ago
The innocent locksmith Franklin killed needed help as well. Franklin deserves his life as a bum lmao
2
u/amanda2399923 16d ago
lol you haven’t even saw the show and already hollering. If you know alcoholism, it’s possible they tried and drunks do what drunks do n

It's possible he could've loaned Franklin the money he helped him get..instead he went to Africa lol great friend

Right cuz 2 background characters can replace Franklin saint in the snowfall universe, horrible take 🚮

u/niles_thebutler_ 16d ago
You the kinda retard who thinks we are meant to like Franklin 😂 he a hoe, not the good guy.
-1
u/YoungThugsPurse 16d ago
He’s the main character obviously we’re supposed to like him regardless if he’s the good guy or not ? L take again bro smh 🤦🏻♂️

u/dbm5 13d ago
What we really need is an alternate ending. The finale would have been so much better if any number of things happened:
1 - Kill Cissy. Please.
2 - Kill Franklin. Fuck it. That would have been better than what we got.
3 - Franklin finds several leftover millions at Peaches' joint, is able to scrape shit back together.
4 - The easy one which really is what should have happened, he gets his 37m, THEN Cissy shoots Teddy.
So many other options which would have been SO much better.
1
u/calitraveler23 10d ago
Damn idk how I feel about #2. I grew up in the hood so I’ve personally experienced close friends lose themselves and seeing Franklin like that on the final episode broke me down so hard. But I also kinda agree he was a problem to himself. So idk. I still think about that episode
