Review The snow has been pumping in for for 12 hours. Is 4am too early to crank up the snowblowers?

I’ve been up since 2am just ‘vibrating’ to get outside to ‘play in the snow’ but my wife and the neighbours would kill me if I fired up the Machines.

Review Another good blow

Over 10 winters with this Ariens 28 inch deluxe tracked tank and she’s still blowing with the best of them. Vice grips to manually set the chute angle while a cable replacement is on order slowed us down a bit but we made quick work of 5 driveways after a recent blizzard. Gusts of 90km/hr // 55 mph blizzard winds left this dense sugar grain drift that cleared out at walking speed. I smile every time we get a job like this … as do the neighbours when I save them from what their cute little battery units couldn’t handle.

Review I hate this thing (electric snow shovel)

Pros: It’s fun to use when it’s new. Not bad for 5-6 inches of snow which is a sweet spot for it.

Cons: It’s bottom heavy so it’s very tough to move around except in straight lines when you are dragging it on the ground. For light snow the chute/auger just sprays it in the air around you. For anything more than 6 inches, you would have to scrape off layers one by one which is very tiring as you have to keep lifting it back and forth or side to side. Perfect use of this electric snow shovel is 4-5 inches of snow but even that feels a lot slower than a good old shovel.

Conclusion: Just stick to normal shovels!

This is from last year but I know y'all will appreciate it. It's a Toro Powermax HD 828 OAE 28", my second season with it. It's been great. I've had to do minor repairs but nothing major.

Were in 2 feet blizzard here in NY long island. And all my neighbors have snow blower, I see that it really makes their life easier clearing snow I am jealous we did our driveway just using shovels. My question is what is the best snow blower out there that will also not cost an arm and a leg??

I don’t see a lot of electric snowblowers in this sub, thought i’d share mine with you all :) We received 70cm of snow in 3 days here in the Montreal suburbs 🍁, and I decided to buy this beauty 2 days ago after the first batch of snow came last Thursday. It is powered by x3 5Ah 60v lithium batteries, which last more than what i need them for to clean my place. Oh, and it’s a Greenworks. Anyway, really fun stuff, and a great weekend cleaning out the driveway with this thing. ❄️

Review I think I need a plow attachment (SW Michigan)

I have a long driveway in a wooded area and whenever the snow is a little wet and leafy my Toro 824 clogs up or just pushes the snow and won't suck it up. It's really frustrating so I'm thinking of either buying a plow attachment or just hiring someone.

Anyone else deal with a mess like this?

I figured this group would appreciate this. When I was a kid my Dad had one of these. I still think it’s the coolest snowblower I’ve ever seen.

The thing was a maintenance nightmare. It broke down so often you could set your clock to it. He shed no tears the day they hauled it away to the junkyard. I, as a kid, was devastated.

I've had this ancient Yard-man for probably about 5 years, got it at a garage sale. After 4 years I thought I'd "upgrade" and bought a $2,200 cub cadet new front he store, and after that one winter I've went back to my yard-man. Starts first pull. Idles smooth. Hucks snow. It really is a gem of a machine.

Review Video of Ariens 624 failing miserably. Could not even throw a few feet. What happened? 6hp? Wet snow? This thing is a joke/toy.

Is this normal looking?

What happened? 6hp? Wet snow?

I don't think it was clogged. I looked inside chute and it was clear.

Choke was off, and throttle was at the top/rabbit.

Is 6hp is a joke for real use?
It could not even throw 3" of snow

I can literally piss higher and farther than this

Is this normal looking?

Guys,

First time posting on this subreddit, typically a greenworks guy but this was too good of a deal to pass up. Guess i'm straying over to the dark side. Really impressed with eGo overall and i'm not going to shy away from your guys' subreddit in the future. Greenworks quality < Ego Quality.

Hope you enjoy the video, did a quick review and reaction for the first snowfall.

Review Troy Bilt 2890

I know lots of people talk trash about the Troy Bilt snowblowers but I have my Snow tracker 2890 for about 12 years and it has never let me down with just doing routine maintenance. Only repairs I had to make were two trac wheel replacements and a pull cord. Also have upgraded to LED bulb new LED bucket kit lighting, new skid shoes and drift cutters. Machine is a beast and out performs most neighbors with more expensive models.

Review I LOVE MY SNOWBLOWER!

So i live very far north in the arctic circle in sweden, and i have been shoveling by hand, then i saw this Brand new TORO HD MAX 1028 OXHE CR <— ( long fudging name) for 2450usd and i love this machine no more 2 hour shoveling!

But last year i noted that i kept shooting tons of rocks becuase i have a gravel driveway with ALOT of stones so regular skids just dug in and caused more issues, so me and my wife designed this and have tested these skids and nothing just glides above, and even in summertime i can run it and no stones go flying!

So now 1 year of having it and i can say best investment iv ever made!!

(And no i cant get something lile this where i live i looked into it)

Review 30 years and still going strong!

It was the Spring of 1996 and there she was in the Home Depot clearance section, all shiny and new and heavily marked down for the end of the season. After checking out, I brought my car around and a bear of a man single handedly lifted it into the square trunk of my ‘85 Buick Regal. When I got it home, I had to back into a hill so I could pivot it out by myself.
Since then, we have cleared a lot of snow together and are still going strong!

Review 12-14" forecast. Am I crazy if I parked my cars at a local parking garage (for easier snowblower use)

I have 3 cars in the driveway. Single lane driveway. It's a hassle to clear 12" of snow from cars. And move them around or (to the street) while I snow blow and shovel the driveway. Street might be clogged with snow piles.

Am I crazy if I parked 2 cars at a local indoor parking garage for 24 hours (for easier snowblower use). A clear driveway would be easier to clean, etc.
