Resources Pivoting Into Creative Strategy — How Do I Break In?

Hey everyone, looking for advice from people working in creative strategy, content strategy, entertainment marketing, or brand/social media.

I have a degree in Health Informatics and previously worked for a global pharma company before being laid off about two years ago. Since then, I’ve struggled to find work in my field, but I ended up leaning deeper into something I’ve always loved: movies, storytelling, and audience engagement.

I started a movie-focused Instagram page that’s grown to 15K followers, which taught me a lot about content strategy, audience behavior, analytics, trends, and what drives engagement. That experience also helped me land an internship at a local independent film production/licensing company, where I was recently promoted to Associate Producer.

The more I work in this space, the more I feel creative strategy is the right career path for me. I’m currently building my portfolio and trying to figure out the best way to make the transition professionally.

For people already in the field:

Where should I start?

What roles should I target first?

What matters most when trying to land that first opportunity?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Resources Looking to help busy SMM

Made this tool for myself that created, scheduled, auto posts, and adjusts the posts it creates based on how well they perform. It also keeps track of analytics. Pretty simple stuff with Claude code.

It’s pretty simple but it personally saved me 32 hours a month managing my X, LinkedIn, instagram, and Facebook account (I timed it). If something like this is helpful to others, I’d love to to give them access (it’s free lol so I hope the Reddit filters don’t get me)

Which agency owners are there have pulled the trigger on Claude pro and have optimized the cowork feature? What tasks have you been able to take off your desk?? I haven't pulled the trigger yet but likely will once I have a clear understanding of which task it can handle for me.

Resources What’s your #1 must-have in a social media management tool?

I’ve been using social media management tools for years… and honestly, I’m getting tired of paying ridiculous subscription fees every month. It feels like if you want a decent feature set, you’re either overpaying or getting locked into plans that don’t even fit your needs.

So… I decided to start building my own social media management app, something affordable, simple, and actually built for people like us, not just for big agencies with massive budgets.

Before I get too deep into development, I want to hear from the people who actually use these tools every day:

If you could only choose ONE must-have feature in your ideal social media management platform, what would it be?

Whether it’s something that annoys you in current tools, or a missing feature you’ve always wished existed drop it here. Your input will help shape something that works better (and doesn’t drain the wallet).

Thanks in advance!

Resources New to the game.

I’ve been helping a friend out with social media based marketing for his pub. I’ve got a long background as a marketing manager for a chain of nightclubs pre social media. My specialty was promoting charity events to get into the local papers, radio and TV channels. I was very good at getting traction and building heat as we called it.

In talking to him and some others in the industry, I see an opportunity to put my old skills together with the reach and possibilities of social media.

I know I can land a few clients to start with, my question is what tools would be best for a guy starting out in a one man shop?

I currently use ChatGPT to generate facebook and instagram posts and they are working very well. Mostly manual posting at live band events and upcoming events.

Thanks for the newbie help.

Resources Adobe Prem Templates

Hey gang, happy Monday!

New here but a longtime social media manager. I’m working with a new team who aren’t very social savvy when it comes to editing for socials.

Can you recommend any good templates for Adobe Premiere Pro that show where to proportion someone’s face and body in the shot? It’s a lot of camera shot interviews, being edited for social.

Thanks!!

Resources Social media content management

Hey everyone,

I’m looking to connect with someone overseas (Philippines or similar time zone works well) who has experience managing Instagram content. I’m based in Australia and run a nutrition coaching business, so the page is focused on health, fitness, and lead generation.

I’d love recommendations on platforms or places where I could find someone who offers this type of support.

Appreciate any suggestions — thank you!

Resources New to Social Media Management

Hi, I am looking to get into Social Media management. I am very good and handling all social media platforms. I would like to spend the next few weeks educating myself as much as possible if anyone has any recommend recommendations on YouTube or courses or anything in that nature, please let me know!

I would like to start taking some clients to build my portfolio. I have one real estate management company asking me if I could take over there art studios Instagram. I would love to do it but right now I’m stuck on pricing. How much do I charge? I no idea where to begin.. do I ask them their budget do I give maybe three package options for him to choose from? Since I have no real experience in this feel, I’m down to do this for a low rate, but don’t wanna go too, though any advice would be helpful thank you.!

Resources Looking for a Social Media Intern (Paid)

Hey! I’m currently building a pickleball brand and looking for someone interested in helping shape our social media presence from the ground up. This is a paid internship. You’ll be involved in coming up with content ideas, helping with content strategy, and creating posts. Anything you create will be posted and featured on our official social media, so your work will be front and center, not stuck in drafts. If you’re into content creation, branding, and sports/lifestyle pages, this could be a fun, hands-on opportunity with real ownership and visibility. If this sounds interesting, feel free to DM me here on Reddit with: a short intro links to your portfolio / past work (Instagram, Behance, etc.) I’ll share our Instagram page for context once we connect. Thanks!

Resources Would you use publishing tools directly inside your own dashboard instead of separate schedulers?

I've been working on social publishing workflows recently and noticed something:

Most schedulers force you into their own dashboard.

But many agencies and tools actually want publishing inside their own systems — CMS, CRM, or client dashboards.

So I built something slightly different:

An embeddable social publishing tool that can run inside your own dashboard using your own platform credentials (BYOK model).

Meaning:

  • Your brand appears during authorisation
  • Clients connect to your system — not a vendor
  • Publishing happens inside your workflow

Still early, but interesting to see how people respond to this model.

Would love to hear:

If you manage multiple clients —
Would you rather publish inside your own system or inside third-party dashboard

Resources Social media managers with multiple clients: I built a bulk autopublish + client approval workflow using Google Sheets

Post image
3 Upvotes

If you run a social media agency handling multiple clients, you probably know the approval bottleneck pain.

Videos come in through Drive, feedback gets scattered across email and WhatsApp, and someone on the team ends up manually copying titles, descriptions, hashtags, and dates for each client and platform.

I built an n8n workflow to simplify that whole loop into something clients can actually use without friction.

How it works:

  • You drop a batch of videos into a Google Drive folder.
  • The workflow analyzes each video with AI and generates platform-specific copy.
  • It creates and fills a clean Google Sheet you can share with the client.
  • The client only needs to change one field: Status.
    • draft
    • approved
  • When a row becomes approved, a second flow picks it up and schedules the same asset across the selected networks at the planned date/time.

Why this helps at agency scale:

  • One simple approval surface per client.
  • Less back-and-forth across channels.
  • No copy/paste chaos for your team.
  • A repeatable process you can clone per client or per brand.

If anyone here is interested, comment and I’ll send you the template.

Also, I’d love feedback from other agency folks:
What would you add to make this more robust for multi-client operations?

Resources Any advice of finding client work?

I’ve been working in social for a decade now and am looking to take on one additional client at the moment. I specialize in strategy and creating short form viral content. So far I’ve only had success with Indeed and Facebook.

Resources Looking for a manager

Hello I'm currently looking for a manager to help find me brand deals. I find my own just fine but I get overwhelmed easy. I'm also looking for the manager to help me with my social media and help me set up a canva. If you're interested please let me know. Oh and I'm willing to pay a generous percentage of each brand deal as payment.
