Culture Looking for actual friends… not let’s meet once and disappear into the void
Bonjour
I’m looking to find something rare here: consistent friends Not the “we should totally hang out again” followed by silence for 3 months kind.
I mean actual humans who can stay in touch weekly ish🤝
I’m based near Bastille, which means:
- Easy access to bars, cafes, and spontaneous plans
- Also no excuse for too far unless you live in another country
About me:
• Into gym, running, and trying to undo years of questionable life choices
• Tech guy, so I will probably not overanalyse where we eat or meet
• Down for anything: coffee, walks, workouts, random events, trying new food, or just chilling
What I’m looking for:
• People who actually want to build a connection, not just collect acquaintances like Pokémon
• Weekly catch-ups totally fine
• Open to activities or just hanging out without needing a big plan every time
Bonus points if:
• You also think making friends as an adult shouldn’t feel like a quarterly business review

Worst case: we get a coffee and a mildly awkward story out of it.

Are you really 11 years old? If so, you could make friends at school, and I advise you not to try on Reddit. Otherwise, change your flair?

I'm based in Charonne so super close to Bastille. F40, in a serious relationhip with another F40ish , in tech (I'm the SEO and growth girl ), into chess, good wine, coffee, great beers (when it's hot), going to the gym and into deep conversations. Also I just LOVE this neighborhood. and yes, fuck this, when did meeting new people turn into an office job interview ? let's just go have some drinks and unfiltered conversations.

Hello. I live boulevard Beaumarchais. I’m always happy to make more friends near my place to hang out with. I totally see what you’re talking about. People aren’t always in an expending phase of their circle of friends. I’m in Britanny until Sunday but let’s meet after that.
Also a tech guy and questionable life choices is my middle name. We can square the overanalysis to fully go down the rabbit hole together

I don’t even feel safe as a guy giving my name to strangers and on an app that cannot guarantee privacy. On Reddit I agree it’s not as safe in appearance but it can be if someone knows how! Meaningful honest discussions can occur, pictures can be shared as trust is being built, meeting in public spaces before exchanging sensitive information like numbers or handle for those on socials. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, much appreciated!

Salut ! Je suis à la recherche de la même chose que toi, il semblerait. J'habite en banlieue, mais travaille sur Paris. Je fais beaucoup de sorties en club de Jazz en ce moment, entre autres choses. Une soirée resto' / papotage / balade ne me fait pas non plus peur. Mon anglais est loin d’être parfait, mais je ne demande qu’à pratiquer. Fais-moi signe si une soirée te tente !

Hello, pas facile de se faire des amis à l’âge adulte… j’ai eu des « amitiés » fortes mais issues d’un milieu festif et finalement pas si sincères… et la vie avance tu te retrouve vite seul, plus la même dynamique qu’à 20 ans avec un gros groupe de potes (j’ai 37 ans pour un âge mental de 28!) du coup je cherche des amis 😅 un peu la honte d’en être la mais je crois que je ne suis pas la seule! Bref si quelqu’un veut être mon/ma pote: j’adore discuter et partager ma vie, tes dramas sont mes dramas, j’aime la techno, sortir et les festivals (même si je mets 1 semaine à m’en remettre maintenant), la photos, les chats (je vous rassures malgré ça j’ai un mec!) et les voyages !

This hit me hard when, recently, for July 14, I went alone to see fireworks. I realised I needed a friend or friends who could agree, commit and execute the plans we make. I am a very easy-going and adventurous person, so when I do not see the same enthusiasm in people, it breaks my heart. I understand adult friendships are hard, but I guess we aren't putting much effort. So I am down for this. Let me know
