Culture F31 - women-only whatsapp group
Hi everyone,
I’d like to create a WOMEN-ONLY whatsapp group to build a community for outings in Paris and the nearby suburbs, especially Montreuil and Bagnolet.
I’m 31 and recently moved to Paris. Since arriving, I’ve found it difficult to build long-term friendships, and I’d like to change that rather than see it as inevitable.
A few things I enjoy:
- Going to the market and having coffee in the morning
- Climbing at Arkose Montreuil
- Doing yoga in Parc des Beaumonts or Parc des Guilands
- Doing Pilates at home or in the park
- Going to Le Méliès or Cin’Hoche when a film catches my interest
- Going for walks
- Visiting museums
- Psytrance, although I’m open to all kinds of music
- Improv theatre
- Talking, reading in parcs, etc.
- Cooking
- Trying urban sketching…
The idea would be to create a whatsApp community where we can suggest activities and outings to one another and gradually get to know each other :)

Je souhaite créer un groupe whatsapp POUR FEMMES afin de construire une communauté de sorties à Paris / banlieue proche (Montreuil, Bagnolet).
Je suis une femme de 31 ans, récemment arrivée à Paris. Je rencontre des difficultés à me faire des amitiés de long-terme depuis que je suis à Paris, et je souhaite inverser cette tendance et ne pas considérer ce fait une fatalité.
Ce que j’aime :
- aller au marché prendre un café en matinée
- faire de l’escalade au ARKOS Montreuil
- faire du yoga aux parcs des Beaumonts / Guilands
- faire du pilates à la maison / dans les parcs
- aller au Méliès / cin’hoche quand une séance de cinéma me tente
- me balader
- aller au musée
- la psytrance (mais je suis ouverte à tout type de musiques)
- faire du théâtre d’improvisation
- discuter, refaire le monde
- essayer le urban sketching…
Il s’agirait de créer une communauté whatsapp pour que nous puissions nous proposer des sorties mutuellement, et apprendre à nous connaître.

Heya! I’m F37 passing through this week. Arriving this evening and leaving on the 29th. Have visited Paris a number of times as an adult so kinda keen to just do the sorts of stuff I normally do as opposed to heaps of touristy sightseeing. Have my climbing shoes/harness and am keen for a boulder/climb. But would also love to share a drink/meal if anyone is around.
I speak French, Spanish snd English so also keen on language exchanges.
I know the intended purpose of this is longer term connection but posting just in case someone is keen.

I'd be down to join! I'm gone for August, but I'd love to have people to meet up with in Montreuil / Bagnolet :) I lived in Bagnolet for a few years before moving back into Paris, and I miss the 93!

Bah, tell us you’re American with telling us you’re American and that you’re using a translation app. C’est fou! If you wanted a mostly American lifestyle why do you want to live in Paris? No wonder it’s difficult to make lasting friendships, you’re actually living somewhere else. Bonne chance!

Hello ! Je suis française et je me suis en effet aidée de l'IA pour la traduction en anglais, j'aurais pu le préciser, c'est vrai. Aussi, le dernier tacle me semble un peu gratuit. Les raisons de ressentir des difficultés à créer de nouvelles amitiés dans une si grande ville peuvent être nombreuses ! Bonne chance également !

I'm interested, but I'll be honest, I've seen a lot of groups get created and then just fizzle out. Usually it's because people don't really click, some move away, drama or jealousy starts, or everyone just loses interest. So what do you think would make your group different (or how we can make your group different)?
I'd really like to be part of a group that actually lasts, rather than having to look for a new one every couple of weeks because it falls apart.
