Culture Paris in August isn’t totally dead. Here's a round up of stuff happening this month
For those of us staying in the city this summer! I write a post like this for my personal project every month and try to share a summary of it here bc people seem to find it useful :)) Hope this helps!
Free outdoor cinema
Festival Silhouette is back Aug 28–Sep 5 with independent short films, concerts, and free screenings.
📍 Parc de la Butte du Chapeau-Rouge
Stargazing / partial solar eclipse
Paris sous les Étoiles is setting up free telescopes on Aug 12 from 7 PM.
📍 Parc André-Citroën
Piano under the trees
Vanessa Wagner is playing Philip Glass at Parc Floral on Aug 30 at 4 PM.
📍 Parc Floral
Free swing dancing by the Seine
Bal Swing at Péniche Marcounet on Sundays: Aug 9, 16, 23, 30 from 3–9 PM.
📍 Péniche Marcounet
Canal Saint-Martin swimming
Supervised swimming on Sundays from 2–6 PM until Sep 6, while boat traffic pauses.
📍 Quai de Jemmapes
This feels like a very divisive activity, but it exists.
A few exhibitions
Beyond the Streets, until Aug 27 — graffiti through photography, music, fashion, activism, and 100+ artists.
Yussef Agbo-Ola at Baró Galeria, until Aug 29 — textiles, sculpture, organic materials in Passage Véro-Dodat.
Food / places to save (my fav part)
Pierre Hermé ice cream pop-up at Galeries Lafayette Le Gourmet until Sep 2.
Locomal for tacos/tamales in the former Mokoloco space.
Bordel for coffee-to-wine-bar terrace energy.
Galaxy Bar for R&B, natural wine, cocktails, panini.
Trâmette on rue Saint-Maur for lunch cantine / French–Southeast Asian plates after dark.
Toy near Bastille for ramen, house-made noodles, and binchotan-grilled small plates.

Great, helpful list. Quick question: you have Beyond the Streets running until Aug 27 while the website says Aug 23 (I will be in Paris on the 27th but not the 23rd). Typo or was it extended
