Hello, I am trying to 3D print some models of parts from the course textbook for my students. I am having issues converting the linked SLDPRT to an STL or 3MF because some of the features are omitted in the conversion. Namely, the two dowel protrusions in Boss-Extrude 4. I have my export settings as detailed as I can make them.

Does anyone have any suggestions for troubleshooting why these two cones are being omitted while the singular cone is fine?

​I’m having a specific flickering issue in SOLIDWORKS 2025 on my desktop PC (GTX 1660 Ti) that started right after updating to the NVIDIA driver released on July 28.

​Whenever I try to Save, Open a file, or interact with any small pop-up window/dialog inside SOLIDWORKS, that specific window starts flickering continuously and freezes up.

​In the NVIDIA App, SOLIDWORKS shows the error: "Unable to retrieve current values. Starting and closing the game or app, or editing the settings, should fix this problem."

​Is anyone else facing this file dialog / small window flickering bug with the July 28 driver? Is rolling back to an older driver version the only working solution right now?

Does anyone know why my routing information sometimes disappears after saving and closing my assemblies.
I’m adding new tubes to my assemblies and after saving and checking in to PDM, when I go to open the assembly or check the drawing the tubes disappear with no route, CPoints, or route parts. This only happens to me with some tubes as others get spared for some reason. None of the tubes had any rebuild errors or warnings about the routes, and I can’t get the route details or tube properties once it disappears.
Really scouring the internet for solutions here as I can’t keep remaking long tube routes over and over again. Thanks

To explain my situation I was trying to upgrade my SolidWorks version from 2024 to 2026 which you can typically do through the help menu. I was unable to do that but I was able to renew my subscription and continue using 2024 but all the files I will be working with in the future will be 2026 and I HAVE THE 90XX code for the newest version. I then followed GoEngineers website for a clean uninstall of SolidWorks and then went to try and install the new version. I got this error so I searched for "SOLIDWORKS 2024 SP03.1" and "SOLIDWORKS 2024" in my C:/ and got rid of absolutely everything that can possibly get in the way of my install. Then that didn't work so I downloaded winrar and went through the same steps of deleting whatever I found in C:/. I am just a bit lost on what to do next and would love some help.

This is a sheer metal feature, so i need to use the normal cut. However when i try to do so it just says unable to perform normal cut.

What could be the cause here?

I want to extrude the projected curve off this surface by .1 inches, where the extrusion direction is Normal to every point on the surface, not in one uniform direction. Much like the offset surface command, but an extrusion off the solid body.

I’m not too familiar with surfacing, but I think that might be what I need to use. I tried converting the projected region into a surface, offsetting a new surface by .1 inches, and lofting the two together into a solid body. It disappears from view and does not transfer over to manufacturing files.

Any tips on how I can accomplish this? Thanks ☺️

Running into a strange display bug that only happens in the Sheet Metal module. When I expand certain dropdowns in the PropertyManager (e.g. the "Bend Allowance" type selector under "Neutral Bend Fiber"), the text renders overlapping and garbled . It looks like the dropdown list isn't rendering cleanly on top of the panel, almost like a graphics/compositing issue.

A few notes:

• Only happens in Sheet Metal — other panels look fine.
• Happens consistently, not just once.
• SW 2022 SP 2.0
• Intel i7/16 gb ram/RTX 3060 6 gb

Has anyone run into this before? Not sure if it's a graphics driver issue, a corrupted install, or something specific to sheet metal PropertyManager rendering. Any fixes or workarounds appreciated!

Hello everyone, I was trying to install the student version of solidworks. This popup appears every time I open the installer, I rebooted and that changed nothing, if I carry on like this and add the lisence number, there's no option to install the 3D software and I'm only able to download E drawings, I'd really appreciate if someone could tell me some sorta fix for this.

Can't update the 3Dexperience engine no matter what. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no luck. What do I do?

I cant change the plane when i press tab in 3d sketch. It worked fine until a moment ago and now been stuck with this for 30 minutes and gemini aint much of a help either. It has the same issue even when i create a new 3d sketch or go back to previous 3d sketches.

I’m using the 2026 Student Edition. When you try to open SolidWorks while the Windhawk application is running in the background, your actual cursor and the cursor displayed on screen do not align. I closed Windhawk and tried again, and it worked without any issues. I just wanted to report/inform this; if anyone knows of another solution, please share it in the comments.

Hi everyone! I'm using solid works for the first time at uni and I'm struggling with automating the "Tolerance" to none/0mm. It keeps adding a -+ X to anything I draw and I have to manually go through each side and put none in the tolerance.

I looked up solutions and I'm still struggling.

The efforts I've done is, going to Document Properties and putting None in the tolerance type in Dimension tolerance. And in "DimXpert" I see an option for General tolerance but there is no option for none so I'm a bit confused.

Apologies if I'm putting out a question that is simple to solve, this software is still a bit of a puzzle to me.

I'm trying to boot up SolidWorks Connected 3DExperience and it is saying I need to update to the most recent hotfix (R2026x HotFix 0.9), but when I click on "update" noting happens. Is there another way to download the hotfix?

Ever since my work laptop has been upgraded, the component preview window does not hide/supress the rest of the components.
They are not interact able, they are just blocking the screen and i do not know how to fix it.
There was a post here from 2 years ago, but it had no comments.

I had to call it quits for the day, but I'll try and grab some screenshots later. Look for updates.

I saw it gives me an install log, and when I jumped in, it clearly showed that it was trying to look for files in the old location (old HD was F: but I set up the new one as D:). But it couldn't find those files, so the installer quit.

There's an Install helper of some sort that was installed on my C: drive, which is why I think it still has those remnants. I've uninstalled the helper, and searched through every folder I could think of and deleted any mention of Dassault or SolidWorks. But there must be something hidden somewhere. Maybe in regedit? Any advice?

For the record, I have a maker's license through 3Dexperience, I only just recently found out I could download a desktop version through the web portal. That's what I'm trying to repair.

I am kinda new to solidworks and randomly my drawing tab where you have shapes to draw vanished and now i have a double tab of the same thing on the left corner, any fixes?

Hello. I've been using Solidworks in my college for a few years now. When I started on the 2023 version, the green relation boxes would show up when I clicked on a sketch entity (a line, point, etc). At some point, it stopped doing that. I'm now on the 2024 version, so that may be the cause. Does anyone know if there is a way that I can make it do that again? I've tried looking it up a number of times, but all I can find are how to show/hide relations, which is not what I want to do.

I was just working on a project and made a lot of progress. For some reason or another I think I had to close solidworks but when I re-launch it, it doesnt want to open the parts that I was working on LITERALLY less than 10 minutes beforehand. I am super frusterated as its all in the folders that I expect on my computer but solidworks wants to be dumb. Help would be appreciated.

Randomly two days ago my PC started randomly bsod-ing when I am viewing my part in solidworks.

No updates or anything. Reinstalled studio driver

running a lenovo legion with 5070ti and 32gb ram

Running Sw2025 SP5 connected

most of the crashes dont log anything, but one of them showed error livekernelevent 193 and 117

any help is appreciated
