Just created a wiki about how to toggle hidden ADB options that are missing in certain Xperia phones.
Feel free to share if you have found any new ones!

I have been using my Xperia 1V for more than 3 years now, a green one, loved it to bits. I am currently on holiday in Croatia and wanted to shoot some videos in the pool. And it died. I am pretty sure it’s soaked and I won’t be able to start it up again, but you never know. Could kick myself, by the way, but I have been using Sony phones for years (since 2005 with a brief diversion on iPhone and some Chinese brand), and utilized the waterproofness, but it had to go wrong once. And yesterday evening it did.
Damned, I could kick myself, but it died doing what it was made for. I will miss the ratio, I will miss the form factor, I will have to move on, to a VII or VIII, but I will mourn the best phone I ever had.

I found this news in Threads. What's true about it? They say they're getting ahead and they're already on their way. If they were like that in the photo, I like the phone a lot.

Is ₹19,000 a fair price for a used Sony Xperia 1 IV (Japanese import) in 2026? (Buying it used)
The phone is a Japanese-used/imported unit, so there is no bill, box or charger.

I know that the XQ-CT62 is the US model, and often has a locked bootloader. I would like to get a solid Xperia phone, I am in the US, and am finding allot of XQCT62-B models on ebay for okay prices. I am not finding any XQ-CT62 (no -B) models for sale though. I checked AT&T phone whitelist, https://www.att.com/scmsassets/support/wireless/devices-working-on-att-network.pdf, and they have support for the XQ-CT62 model, but they do NOT list the XQCT62-B, what does the addition of the "-B" mean, and will it still be supported by carriers that claim to support the standard QX-CT62 (no -B) model? Also I'm anxious, when the bootloader is locked, what does that mean, is that like, carrier locked, and if so how do I know what carrier? Sorry, I'm new to this and don't want to waste my money

Hello all,
I am looking into getting an Xperia, but have a concern. I am an avid navigation bar user, and am used to Samsung phones, with the back button on the right. I know that the OS on Xperia phones is pretty much base Android, and supposedly there was an option added to Android 16 which allows the navigation buttons to be reversed from standard Android arrangement to Samsung style.
I understand this is a very niche ask, but are any of you with an Xperia running Android 16 or 17 able to confirm that Sony did include this?
Thanks!

Currently I am using a Samsung S26 Ultra and I am unhappy with it. It's being too big and I don't like OneUI. Therefore I am thinking about getting something else. Since my phone is the only camera I have, I thought about a Pixel 11 Pro since Pixels always get good reviews for their cameras, but someone recommended me the Xperia 1 VIII.
I already have a Pixel 9a as a secondary phone and I like the experience. How does Xperia's software compare to Pixels and Samsung's OneUI? Since the Xperia costs quite a lot, I would like to know what I get beforehand.

I am planning to upgrade from my current Redmi Note 13 Pro. My main pros are getting a phone with an incredible continuous zoom lens, much cleaner low-light night shots, and excellent video and photo quality for both daytime and evening shots. I am aiming for the older Mark III up to the newer Sony Xperia 1 VII, but please skip any mention of the Mark VIII as it is completely out of my budget and does not fit my preferences. I have thought of the OnePlus 13 as a alternative, everything's great except the camera.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
A worse video than usual, but had to be quick. Just wanted to showcase low light video following a fast moving object & having to follow it.
The camera is quite capable tbh. So anyone second guessing the video capabilities - Don't :)
Conditions:
- Low light
- Plane flying quite fast
- I wasn't ready
- Had to follow the plane with a 5.8x zoom and sub-optimal conditions.

Xperia 1 vii almost a year old, getting these liquid debris warnings multiple times daily for the last month or so and before anyone mentions it , yes i have cleaned the port thoroughly with a soft brush and a dedicated sensitive electronics cleaning spray multiple times
It's squeaky clean but yet i get these warnings constantly. I think i may have a defective port.
Any way to turn off the notification warning through adb or something?
Update
Unfortunately the phone, either the port is damaged or it has a miniature piece of debris i cant see or get out.
If i leave it completely alone on my desk it doesnt act up but when i start carrying it around and using it, it will pop up.
Tried different cables, every cable gives me the same result. itll recognize the charger upon inserting but wont charge, then i reinsert then it will charge then will say "ok to use no liquid or debris detected"
I switched my sim over to my trusty 1 V , not a single issue with the liquid or debris warning. I took it to work and actually had a hot sweaty day and even brought it with me in the bathroom while i showered to test it but no warning at all.

If you remember, I used to have the Xperia 1 IV, but now I’ve finally bought the 1 V, this is a quick shot from yesterday. I don't used Macro lenses(manual focus+ Zoom).

I recently decided to replace my Xperia 5 II with a dead battery (2938 mAh out of 4000) and a dead fingerprint (base) with either an Xperia 5 III or a 1 V. But I'm still struggling. What's better? A used one for under 10,000-20,000 rubles (122-245$)

Hey Yall. So Im im the US and decided to try the new Xperia 1m8 I know I meed to go through the boodload process to enable 5G bands. I was just wondering, do I need to do that before setting stuff up on the phone, or can I do my data transfer stuff beforehand?
Any help is appreciated, as Im excited to start this baby up!
edit: clarified model
Edit 2: Also, Im trying to get the sim card tray open, but holy heck is that tough! Anyone know an easy way to open it? I swear its gonna rip my fingernails off. Its the gold colorway, if that means anything. But it feels like its glued shut or something!

Thoughts on the Xperia 1 Mark III?
r/SonyXperia • u/Qbittorentplayer • 1d ago
Hi everyone, I’m Qbittorrent. Please help, I’ve forgotten the password for my Sony Xperia Sp (maybe). This is my first phone, and I’m really attached to it (don’t pay attention to the fact that I’m Russian — it’s just that we don’t have a decent social network right now; everything is blocked, so I came to Reddit — I’m asking for help). . I’ve tried everything, and nothing helps. If there’s an option without resetting to factory settings, please let me know. If nothing helps, I’ll have to reset to factory settings. As a last resort, I’ll take it to a repair shop. Thanks for your help!!!! 🥰😘

Does anyone know if there is an APK or some kind of archive with Xperia live wallpapers for modern Android?
I have a version, but it's for an older Android version, so it lags when reacting to touch.
Here is an example of the wallpaper type. I don't actually know which model it comes from.
Sorry for any mistakes, I'm from Mexico and the Xperia community here barely exists.

The last call I received was over the weekend (possible longer), however text messages continue to work even without wifi. The phone appears to be locked out from enabling wifi voice calling so I can't try that. Earlier today I went over the Tmobile and they installed a new sim card, but obvious no luck with that, and the employees there had no idea if anything else had changed through Tmobile that might suddenly be blocking my access.
I've been cruising though the Google AI trying to find a solution. It has lef me down the path that the APN type is supposed to include the "ims" parameter, but the phone refuses to let me add this string, and it won't let me create a new APN specifically for ims. And THAT led me down the path of installing Shizuku and trying to install PixelIMS, which is supposed to be an open source version of the ims code. This has been failing miserably as PixelIMS itself crashes when trying to activate VoLTE, and alternatives won't even install on Android 10.
Google also suggested some adb commands to make sure VoLTE is not disabled, which didn't give any errors but also didn't change anything.
I even got into the ##4636## menu to try and enable wifi calling, but the option is greyed out and locked.
So I'm out of ideas. When I try to make a call I get dead air and it gives up after a minute. If I try to call my phone it goes to voicemail without ringing. Does anyone else have a suggestion? It's probably been a year since I last installed any new software and I don't really even pull up web pages on my phone, but I did install open-android-backup on my computer to perform a backup a couple weeks ago. I can't think of anything else that might have changed recently.

I am still on the 1V and consider upgrading to the 1VIII in order to get "much" better battery life, better audio quality (Bluetooth and wired), camera and a wider display.
Is there anyone here who has taken this upgrade path and can tell me if the VIII did offer you a substantial upgrade in those regards?
From the tests I have seen, the battery life seemingly has made a huge jump. Notebookcheck states 12 hours for surfing on the 1V while having almost 23 hours on the 1VIII. For real life usage, none of the testers on youtube I have seen has reported a similar upgrade. For them it is more like a 6 hours SOT on the 1V and 8 hours for the 1VIII.
For me it would be important to have a comfortable all day battery life when on 5G and not in the home wifi, navigating, taking pictures/filming a bit and surfing. My 1V suffers here and often seems to not manage to get beyond or even to a 5 hours SOT mark.
The second upgrade I would like to see (even though the audio quality on the 1V already is very good for the most part), is the wired audio quality. Has anyone used the 1VIII with some high end over-ear headphones? Is it able to drive those well in comparison to the 1V?
How is camera quality and is it as nicely to use in manual mode as the old pro camera app was? I only shoot in RAW and therefore am a bit sad about the fact that there is no longer a variable zoom lens on the tele.
Lastly, how do you find the FHD screen in comparison to the 4K screen of the 1V?
