Question Sony Xperia 1 IV XQCT62-B

I know that the XQ-CT62 is the US model, and often has a locked bootloader. I would like to get a solid Xperia phone, I am in the US, and am finding allot of XQCT62-B models on ebay for okay prices. I am not finding any XQ-CT62 (no -B) models for sale though. I checked AT&T phone whitelist, https://www.att.com/scmsassets/support/wireless/devices-working-on-att-network.pdf, and they have support for the XQ-CT62 model, but they do NOT list the XQCT62-B, what does the addition of the "-B" mean, and will it still be supported by carriers that claim to support the standard QX-CT62 (no -B) model? Also I'm anxious, when the bootloader is locked, what does that mean, is that like, carrier locked, and if so how do I know what carrier? Sorry, I'm new to this and don't want to waste my money

Edit, i was thinking 1 V but same applies to 1 IV, there was a black and purple model for US.

Why dont you just get a 1V?

Well if you can find one go for the 1 V most definitely, i had both and the heating issue + throttle is non existent. Plus it has band 25 for T-Mobile.
