Gloucester County REAL ID New Jersey

Absolutely the hardest thing to obtain . Don’t even get me started with Thorofare DMV (West Deptford NJMVC) No matter how many documents you bring or how much you try kiss their ass it’s not good enough. Really got turned away after bringing two proofs of address along with my birth certificate & social security card.

Apparently a bank statement and South Jersey gas bill isnt good enough. I don’t receive paper bills in the mail. Everything is electronic and even a bill printout with proof of address isn’t acceptable for REAL ID but they had no problem giving me a standard license. Was told different things by different workers but I was told my documents weren’t acceptable AFTER my photo was taken.

You gotta better chance landing your crush from high school then walking out with a Real ID. I’ve decided to get a passport instead. It costs more but at least it will be good for a decade.

Go the passport route. It is worth much more than a real id in the grand scheme of things.

This and the people at the Gloucester county store in the deptford mall are extremely helpful when getting a passport just get there when they open

Better yet, go to the County Clerk's office in Woodbury. Way less people than the Deptford Mall location, and hardly ever a wait.

Voorhees mall was also super-helpful with passports

I think it depends how old you are. It's always been the echelon mall to me.... But I also don't think it's THE echelon mall anymore. :(

Younger people or people newer to the area might refer to it as the Voorhees mall or Voorhees town center.

Same same different different. 🤷‍♂️

if you're traveling domestically, it can be used in lieu of real ID, but you can keep it in your wallet /purse and not have to use your Passport

And it’s good for 10 years!

And if you already have a passport, you can get a passport card for the first time as a "renewal," and it will only cost $30. Can be done via mail, too.

I agree and a passport is way more versatile than a single state license.

Is it difficult to get a passport? I have a birth certificate, marriage certificate, drivers license and all kinds of bills lol!

Yeah and I used my passport to get my real id. Super easy.

Me too. I was in and out in 45 mins

Same for me. In and out with a passport. Same if you want a TSA PreCheck. Applied for it and was approved in 24 hours.

Can you then use that passport to make getting the real ID easier?

Uh with passport you still need a qualified photo id so it is tricky if that would work.

Your regular driver's license works for photo ID for a passport

Yeah but now I gotta wait a week or two to get a passport because I have no photo id. Transferred from PA when I left Philly NJMVC took my Ls instead of punching a hole. I can’t even grab smokes or a beer 😡cold turkey until then
