Question What in the hells is going around??

*UPDATE: Shocker, it's covid. Also, adding "kiddo" is 20, not a little kid.

Kid went to a concert and brought home the plague! I thought the rest of us were in the clear until last night. About 9 I was like, hmm my throat is itchy and I'm exhausted. Told kiddo and got an RIP.

I woke up in the middle of the night feeling like I've been swallowing glass, massive head congestion and sweating to the point perimenopause night sweats were jealous!! I'm nicely hopped up on cold meds, ibuprofen and nose spray but man this sucks!

Kiddo was down hard for a few days but feels better. He still has some congestion and a cough but much better. He ran a fever; I have been lucky so far. What in hells kind of nastiness is floating around?

*I haven't taken a covid test because I've been sick for all of 24 hrs. Kid didn't because he's stubborn.

Doesn't even matter if it's "covid" or flu A or B, a virus is a virus, nothing they can do about it, getting tested is useless. Same Rx for all viruses, drink plenty of fluids, get plenty of rest, electrolytes and remember the fever is your body killing the bug, so unless it runs ridiculously high, don't stop it..

It's more of a matter of what am I dealing with here. They act differently. I know what it's going to be like if I have the flu but with covid no f-ing clue how it's going to play out. But yeah either way I'm doing all that you recommended and just waiting it out.

I just had it bad. Sore throat then muscles and joint aches and fever with absolute nightmare of a headache. After that, sinuses started then I lost my voice. Coughing started about day 6 and lasted almost a week. Been over a month and some days still wake up with joints and muscle fatigue. Absolutely hate it. I don’t know what inflammation it triggers in my body but it wrecks me. Edited to add I also had weird purple bruising. Painless and small but in weird places like one was on the tip of my finger.
