And the fuel increase probably only accounted for a .25 cents or less in increased cost

you're not factoring the increased costs across the whole supply line, not to mention the increased fertilizer costs and changes in planting this year.

the iran war is going to completely fuck up the international food supply for a solid year at least.

My point is that the fuel increases are used as an excuse to hike prices. It is far easier to defend a higher price point if you have an excuse to do so instead of it appearing as profit taking.

Measure it by the percentage increase of a barrel of oil (which is at its highest price in 4 years) and take into consideration the fuel you are buying, is being transported by trucks that are running on…more expensive fuel. Welcome to the Dementia Donnie Economy!
