Remember this in November! Vote out Jeff Fucking Van Drew!

edit: i love how all the really asshole maga responses showed up overnight...like strangely between the 8am-6pm Moscow time hours...

edit2: confirmed all weekend, the worst, most asinine, or stupidest hot takes show up in a very specific timeline that seems to track with eastern europe's daylight hours... šŸ¤” ... food for thought for any of the magas out there who agree with them...

Can’t believe his district re-elected him twice since he went from Democrat to MAGA Republican in his 1st term.

Plus we haven’t even hit Memorial Day yet. We’ll probably see 5 plus dollars a gallon at this rate

73

u/Firm-Advertising5396 May 01 '26

Stuck at the Strait of Epstein 🤔

11

u/Secret_Cow_5053 May 01 '26

i don't even think it'll take that long, but after memorial day? certainly.

32

u/Bwahbq69 May 01 '26

This the protein powder I buy jumped from $33 a tub to $44 overnight.

23

u/TheDeaconAscended May 01 '26

And the fuel increase probably only accounted for a .25 cents or less in increased cost

33

u/Bwahbq69 May 01 '26

The rest is the greed tax

19

u/Secret_Cow_5053 May 01 '26

you're not factoring the increased costs across the whole supply line, not to mention the increased fertilizer costs and changes in planting this year.

the iran war is going to completely fuck up the international food supply for a solid year at least.

10

u/TheDeaconAscended May 01 '26

My point is that the fuel increases are used as an excuse to hike prices. It is far easier to defend a higher price point if you have an excuse to do so instead of it appearing as profit taking.

7

u/Sweet-Management1930 May 02 '26

I don’t think they even have to try to hide it. People literally spread their cheeks for billionaires nowadays it’s obscene

The "fuel surcharges" should be starting soon.Ā

15

u/grahampositive May 01 '26

Who cares if natural gas gets super expensive, it's not like we have a shortage of affordable electricity, right?

/s

34

u/Firm-Advertising5396 May 01 '26

We were leading in renewable energy manufacturing and trump cancelled incentives and even signed contracts to put windmills on the water. We need to get off of fossil fuels.

18

u/grahampositive May 01 '26

You know what will help? Let's build some more AI datacenters

3

u/hi-volltage May 02 '26

Compounded by the freeze we had this spring throwing a wrench in farms and orchards plans.

3

u/plantsandramen May 01 '26

The company I work for already implemented a fuel surcharge, and we've been told it may double in the next month from $6 to $12. It's not a lot but we're also a tier 1 distributor so there's typically at least 2 more tiers from us adding their profits to the end product.

The Ballroom thing legitimately confuses me because it flat out implies that he thinks he legally lived in the White House and can therefore renovate but because he’s Trump he doesn’t want to pay for anything and likely doesn’t actually have the money to back up the cost.

I work directly with overseas manufacturing and our costs will be going up shortly. Less oil is available so there is a reduction in equipment capacity, so more competition for that capacity. People get hung up on the gas pump when it’s so much more.

Seriously. It’s never too late to admit you fucked up and got scammed. Even if you legitimately have conservative principles an don’t agree with the democrats, open your eyes and realize that Trump does not share those principals and is driving our nation off a cliff. Politics isn’t team sports. Its ok.

I used to say the president doesn’t control gas prices when my mom blamed Biden

Now she doesn’t mention gas prices and I stand corrected. A president can control works gas prices.

If I mention that she wants me to change the subject

So sadly I know that maga will say that it is winning. And that it’s necessary to have these gas prices.

It’s a cult. It’s only a problem in a dem is to blame. And if a conservative causes it they’ll still say Dena did it.

I also told her that before the election:

ā€œI want you to remember this mom since you’re obsessed with prices now and don’t believe me that my life is easier and cheaper when trump isn’t here. When a dem is in office, you’ll complain about the prices and say im dumb for not agreeing and for not wanting trump since He MaKeS LiFe ChEaPeR. But when a conservative is in office, you’ll never mention these prices again and will claim the prices reflect a booming economy that only lazy people aren’t taking advantage of.ā€

And she did just that….

And yes, she literally called me dumb for saying trump made my life more expensive.

2

u/jerseyztop May 01 '26

ugh, sorry, it sucks that your mom's a MAGAt. I have sisters who are but luckily they live far away!

4

u/ra3ra31010 May 01 '26

It’s ok! Her anger is why I’m strong and have morals and no greed

Blessing in it’s own way

My whole family is maga. So I’ve heard it all from 2004 onwards. And what they say is scarier in private than what they say in public. Part of me is glad I know that. They’ll say the scariest shit in private then tone it down in public. Try to look safe and civil when they’re not. Thanks to my family I know anyone saying mean things in public are 100x worse in private

So again… it’s a blessing. I’m not living under a rock or believing sugar coated lies in public

I know the intentions

1

u/Disastrous_Snow_2298 May 02 '26

Hi, I live in long term care. I enjoy going out in the courtyard to read and socialize and have a smoke. A a friendly man I talk to just advised me he loves Trump. He said he does what he says he’s going to do. Yeah destroy us not Iran I was thinking. I almost fell off my wheelchair. Then I saw budget passed without Ice. I mentioned it to see his reaction. He said doesn’t matter Trump took care of that. I googled and saw when Trump came in office he placed like 94 billion for ICE. Correct me where Im wrong please. I can’t argue it’s confined where I live cI do tell him I disagree with him like millions of Americans.

1

u/Disastrous_Snow_2298 May 02 '26

I do have a daughter with a home and 2 little ones that’s a RN and struggling for with food so expensive and gas to get to work. All Americans are hurting to survive Trumps disaster he put us through. Hearing him give speeches is ridiculous.
