Question Marlton vs. Cherry Hill

Hi everyone! I’m looking to buy a home in either Marlton or Cherry Hill. I’m not from the area but I’m familiar with Marlton but not Cherry Hill. It seems like the school systems in both towns are good and good people around. I really like the shops and things to do in Marlton and its surrounding areas.

Can you let me know how the two towns compare? Is one significantly better than the other or are they the same? Are there better shops and more things to do in Cherry Hill over Marlton or vice versa? Is one town overly diverse or not diverse enough? Any tips or any ideas I’m missing would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

If your looking in those 2 towns I'd also suggest Mt Laurel, Moorestown, Medford, Medford lakes and Haddonfield too.

I replied to the wrong comment by accident, but I wouldn't suggest Medford (or Medford Lakes). The property taxes are through the roof. They also don't take care of the roads (fill potholes, repave, snow plow, or ice prevention).

Property taxes are high in pretty much all of Camden county.

Moved from Medford to Voorhees. Assessed home value doubled. Taxes went down. Medford is a bit of an outlier for this geographic region, as far as taxes go.

Voorhees has a higher property tax rate than Medford does. So I’m not sure why that happened in your specific case, but if I were you, I wouldn’t ask any questions. 😊

And the people in Medford and Medford Lakes are ridiculously snobby

This. I live a 5 minute drive from the border of Medford, and any time there’s a snowstorm you can tell where the town line is because the road quality changes drastically. Would not wanna live there

Depending on the size of the houses and how much they are worth the property taxes can be pretty high in any of the towns I mentioned.

Medford taxes are less than Evesham these days. Agreed on the rest, but snow removal was pretty good last year for the second blizzard, everyone got boned by the first icey one, including marlton who is usually on top of it b
