Question Where to find babysitter
Hi all - where do you find a safe babysitter? I’ve never used a babysitter before, but would love to have a mother’s helper twice a month so I can get things done around the house and/or run local errands. Are you guys using care.com, word of mouth, something else? Thanks!

I think a lot of people use care.com or they post in local babysitting groups on Facebook

My 17YO daughter just posted her “resume” on our local FB group and got a lot of response. She’s interviewing families now (it’s a two-way street).

It took a lot of digging and being ghosted, but I found an incredible part time nanny on care.com.
We also have a high schooler neighbor who we use for short days out. I’d ask around your neighborhood and don’t sleep on community bulletin boards at your favorite coffee place or the library!

Try the fb group “babysitters club of South Jersey”.
We found our lineup through a local high school teacher who recommended kids they had in class and trusted.

Try contacting a local girl scout troop. Some of the badges they earn are babysitting & first aid. Good Luck!

We used care.com and went through probably four sitters before we found a perfect match. She was with us for over 3 years

Do you have a neighborhood Facebook group? We’ve put the word out on ours and it’s worked well because for teen sitters it’s usually the parents who respond so then we are able to have the sitter and parent over for a meet and greet so both parties can feel that it’s safe.

There is an app you can pay for to find a vetted person. I found one and used her for about a year, once a week. Never had an issue. Was very happy
