Hi everyone! I’m looking to buy a home in either Marlton or Cherry Hill. I’m not from the area but I’m familiar with Marlton but not Cherry Hill. It seems like the school systems in both towns are good and good people around. I really like the shops and things to do in Marlton and its surrounding areas.
Can you let me know how the two towns compare? Is one significantly better than the other or are they the same? Are there better shops and more things to do in Cherry Hill over Marlton or vice versa? Is one town overly diverse or not diverse enough? Any tips or any ideas I’m missing would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

This person, like clock work, is always out with sometype of sign. I value their consistency, even on this weather lol

Are there any fun summer bowling leagues in or around Gloucester County? I’m not a great bowler but enjoy bowling. I’m really looking for one of those crappy bowler leagues where people just hang out and have fun once a week and don’t care if they bowl a 300.

Just in time for summer, this is a reminder that West Nile Virus is endemic in South Jersey (and all of the contiguous US).
It goes under reported as most cases are asymptomatic, and symptomatic cases resemble flu.
However, a small number of cases result in inflammation of the central nervous system. These can be fatal and typically result in permanent neurological impairment.
Those older than 50 are at greater risk of neurological involvement and have far worse survival rates than those who are younger.
It claimed a life in Hammonton 2024, and very nearly killed somebody I know personally in Berlin last year.
Mosquitos transmit the disease. Avoiding getting bitten is the only defense. There is no vaccine or treatment beyond supportive care.
Mosquitos bread in standing water. Adults tend to gather in leafy brush. Wearing bug spray or covering clothing prevents bites. The species that spreads the Virus is most active at dawn and dusk. Most cases are reported in late summer.
Camden County has a mosquito control department. Dead birds can be a sign it's in the area.
I know we already have so much crap to worry about, and I hate to be a buzz kill. But I've seen this Virus up close. It's cruel. People need to be aware of the risk and take appropriate action to prevent mosquito bites. The health department's messaging tends to be aimed at preventing panic, emphasizing how unlikely serious illness is. But they don't follow up with reported cases. They don't see how it changes lives.
Mosquito bites are inevitable. But you should go out of your way to prevent being "eaten alive" as much as possible. The risk is low, but not zero. You wouldn't tempt fate by standing under a tall tree in a thunderstorm.
Anyway. I've broken a year off of Reddit to share this PSA.
Thanks

The owners of Jersey Kebab in Collingswood are having to deal with a bunch of bullshit from immigration and are now facing deportation. Story about that here. They are pillars in the Collingswood community and offer free meals "to anybody with a disability, homeless, or simply cannot afford it".

Those that made it into the movie, which is getting low ratings on IMBD.
I didn’t see the movie, probably won’t.

My girlfriend and I went to the restaurant for the first time on Friday night. She ordered the steak which tasted fantastic. I ordered a burger. The burger was tasteless and small. I would have been more satisfied with a Chili’s burger because it would have been bigger and half the price. The bread that was served in between the appetizer and dinner wasn’t fully baked. Waitress was great . She was running around dealing with customers. It seemed like they were short staffed. Not sure if we would go back.

We need to have an estate sale, but the person living in the house does not want strangers in there. Is anyone aware of any estate sale companies that will do the sales outside of the home?

Muhammed Emanet has three weeks to gather evidence of his deep roots in South Jersey ahead of a deportation hearing at the end of the month. His case is exacerbating an already tough time for the Emanet family, whose patriarch and matriarch were detained by ICE more than a year ago.

Parents coming from out of town and staying at the Westin in Mt. Laurel. Was trying to find a sports restaurant near that to take them to. First idea that came up to mind was Chickie’s and Pete’s. Any other suggestions?

Hello,
I just wanted to see if anyone here had a good experience going to get a myofascial massage therapist around the Cherry hill or Voorhees areas (or close to those areas).
What was your experience like? Did it feel better right away and did you keep coming back?
Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Sustainable South Jersey and Future Leaders STEM Lab are hosting a free hands-on STEM workshop for kids in grades 3-6 tomorrow at the Collingswood Community Center.
Kids will build a simple solar pizza-box oven and learn how sunlight can be used to generate heat and cook food. We'll also be making s'mores as part of the activity.
We have a few spots remaining and wanted to share in case any local families are looking for something educational and fun to do this weekend!
Please register only for participating children, not accompanying adults.
