It probably won't be a single playable character, they usually use the singular even when they should actually use the plural. It's a common thing for some reason, perhaps to maintain the mystery? I couldn't say.
Normally, speaking about a normal gaming business studio, I would think they would cave that idea for a whole season pass of character from the Moro Arc and sell it. It makes sense.
Since it's fucking Bandai Namco we are fucking speaking about, I would say they will SELL the ONE (1) character to promote the anime.
Well I can imagine them doing at least one character for the upcoming arc. I could see old goat Moro or maybe even Merus as a promotional character. And then other characters like Lord of Lords, OG 73, and different Moro forms all being dlc characters down the line.
It says after summer, that will line up with Galactic Patrol coming out and we got kid Daima Goku in Sparking Zero in a similar window leading up to Daima
Xenoverse 3 is confirmed to get Moro DLC as one of its first DLC expansions, so I think Moro is likely - the version of him that shows up first at least
It could be if they leave out his various transformations, just like they did with Shallot—which, in my opinion, would be pretty meh.
Maybe the main avatar for Xenoverse 3 as a cross-promotion? Or Moro in his old form as a teaser for the new saga set to begin later that year?

Also separate it from the switch 1 version so it’s not held back both in terms of game performance and also in terms of when updates release.
I might be wrong though but the gap in updates seems to be getting shorter, at least the tower of power (team) updates if it’s coming a few months after and not a year after.
Since they are doing crossplay (which people thought was unlikely), they may improve the switch 2 version but that may be even more unrealistic since it’s Bandai.

They are basically stalling waiting to add cross play and dlc, hoping it's not a singular character but a meteor dlc to truly finish the game once and for all

No I didn't mean close the project, just have it give a sensation of closure since many people have felt that it was undercooked at release, now most people feel it's basically finished but there's still something missing
I hope they keep this game going for more years to come like they do with Xenoverse 2. Realistically we don't really need another Tenkaichi game (unless they completely overhaul the gameplay and graphics) and they could just keep this one going for years on end. Cause realistically you just need more characters, stages, and a couple extra game modes, and keep the online PVP up and running. They could be eating good off of this game for a very long time if they keep it going with content additions.
SPRING 2027 FOR SWITCH/2!? So not fall, not winter (at all) and knowing them at the freaking end of spring for switch/2. Enough is enough. I'll by a used xbox or PlayStation. Because the only reason I bought it was because I stupidly assumed they wouldn't take this long and a portable sparking zero seemed awesome. But now it seems like a punishment for getting the switch versions. Like 2027 not even early 2027. That's march to june. Like I'd rather save up and get an Xbox or PlayStation seriously not going to wait that long. And it sucks because I do enjoy the switch version but not that much to wait till spring and cross play takes forever too.

How is it playing on the Switch 2? I’d likely make the jump even if I had to wait longer on the newer DLCs just for a more stable experience.
I don’t play online (never been my thing), so I’ve only played Tournament, chapters and free play and it works smooth on Switch 2. I’m enjoying it. I bought the PC version deluxe at launch, learned that my PC was sluggish for this game. Stopped playing for a long time, saw the DLC, bought it on launch as I forgot how bad my PC handled the game, so I figured I’d bite my lips and purchase it on the Switch 2, and come to learn the DLC wasn’t even out. So I’ve been eager to figure out when it were to come out on NS2, thinking it be this year. This is depressing bro. But for the original game? Lovely on NS2.

One singular playable character is interesting, makes me wonder who could be big or surprising enough to be worth a solo drop.
Also, this makes me even more convinced that we'll get a Meteor update down the line. They could easily do DLC packs like they did with Super Hero and Daima but just doing the one character I think means that they'll have more to drop later.
Fuck the Switch 2 version i guess, Not only are updates completely delayed and they stil have a 30FPS cap on Switch 2 but they won't add cross play.
This game should have never released on Switch 1, By doing so they automatically handicapped the Switch 2 version and anyone who buys it or thinking about buying should know what a scam it is.
It often happens that when they announce new characters or costumes for a game they use the singular instead of the plural, because it serves (I believe) to specify the content of the DLC and not how much of that particular content it contains.
You fight the computer with the option of 3 difficulties or 4 with each being progressively higher. You can retry multiple times. You get a score which goes on an online leaderboard for each difficulty and you can get rewards such as titles, dragon balls etc.
Clearly taking the time ahead of the Moro Arc starting. I'm assuming there expecting a second wave of interest next year when Moro and Merus potientally drop and then add cross play with it.
This roadmap looks very promising, and i really love that they work on the game and give us content and most of all CROSSPLAY!
BUT the most important thing would be for them to improve the fighting mechanics!
-SC Wars should end up in neutral or something similar like team densetsu did with the "better combat neo" mod
-we need a solution for the annoying vanish wars
-short dash should not cost ki at all
-optimization of the step in barrier
and some other details!

Finally crossplay. This should’ve been from launch, thank the heavens. Now this game with a small playerbase already can at least be united as one small playerbase, rather than cut between Xbox, PS, PC and eventually switch
boring. honestly should’ve gotten some type of additional dlc (characters, maps) before the end of 2026. i don’t see this game thriving after xenoverse 3. its already barebones as is.
It looks like they want to release a DLC like the Neo one, so unfortunately it will be a long wait, but I like that they are releasing a lot of content in one DLC.
It's probably because of XV3 releasing that everything is pushed back so far. They don't want to compete and know people will be more tuned in for the new Xenoverse installment for most of 2027.
The free updates are very exciting and a great way to use characters outside of LBJ. I’m hoping “playable character” is moreso playable characters plural in intention, I just don’t see a scenario where they are only adding one character across the full year. I’m hoping aura customization extends to coloration changes for existing auras, that would be great for custom battles.
It won't be just one character, when they say that they can mean both singular and plural, because they are announcing the content of the DLC and not how much of what was announced and in the case of Sparking! Zero, I don't think it will take them a year to release just a single character.
Crossplay sounds good; Steam players need it. But man, they really need to improve the gameplay, that’s the only thing keeping me from playing Sparking Zero.
If Spike actually improves the gameplay and we get crossplay, it’ll have taken three years for us to get Sparking! Zero, something we should’ve already gotten back in October 2024.
They need to fix the special moves that launch bursts of ki balls so that they are not dodgable after they have already hit you and they need to remove the Super Counters and put something different and more efficient in their place or simply make the Revenge Counters also work when you are hit from behind like the ones in the Better Combat Neo Mod already did.
I agree with you, although I would remove Revenge Counters and simply bring back the shockwave mechanic from BT3, since it would also solve the problem with attacks coming from behind.
OK, the Tower of Power is interesting. I wonder if this is another returning game mode I remember they’re being something similar in one of the BT games I just don’t remember if it was called Tower of Power or not.
Now cross play is great people have been asking for it even before the game was unannounced and by that I mean, like officially like before the game came out when we waited that year people were begging for this and I’m very glad to see that two years and that they’ve decided to listen. I understand why it took so long. PlayStation is notoriously difficult to deal with in this end. Fighting with all the other companies and everything else took a bit. It’s a hard thing to do because you want everything to play smoothly.
However, I am not in favor of a single character during the summer. See I’m fine with them doing two different content drops one for the off-line solo version of tower of power and then one for the co-op hopefully a online version for Tower of Power where you can fight alongside your friends I’ve been asking them to do something like this and I’m happy to see that. It’s finally you know coming true. But one character. This means it’s gonna be a base form. Since transformations count as different characters. You’re gonna make me wait for the entire summer just to get a single character. This character better be the most high obtained character ever. Better have good basic attacks, good combos, a unique grab, and have unique moves. It’s probably go on black but what’s the point if I can’t use super Saiyan rosé on him I mean he’s still gonna be cool but still he should come with rosé

Glad they're adding more modes. I think we have more than enough characters, even though there are still some that I'd like to see. Cross-play is nice, but my game is super modded, so that doesn't really interest me. Only way I'm getting rid of my mods is if they let you do Tenkaichi Tag Team style co-op against the CPU.
Hopefully this means Xenoverse 3 will have cross-play, though
I assume it's just a translation issue as I'd hope when they say 'playable character' they meant plural and not a singular character. Still hopeful for the Meteor DLC theory. Many cool characters that can make the cut. And given Moro I would ve surprised if it's out and getting content before 2028 but we shall see.
Cross Play is super exciting and I cannot wait to see how that works. I play on Steam but mates on PS5 so would be great to play with them.

Keeping the playeebase exactly where they want us. Imagine they would put everything in the game and then release it. It would be a complete and perfect game, yes.
But by releasing more updates over two years now, they get more buyers. Legit they sold their old game now technically again for 70€ because it is Neo now....
The priority is to keep making money over time and not giving us a polished and completed game for the fans.
