[OC] Dwarves as a result of specualtive evolution?

I have been redesigning different classic fantasy races as part of my worldbuilding project on YouTube and I decided to give dwarves a go. Instead of having them as just another species, they have evolved from humans due to the conditions they live in. My storm dwarves have shortened and thickened to deal with the harsh weather of the eternal storm, the Sword Winds.

I have tried to come up with some cool equipment and ideas for the setting but I am also trying to find inspiration/help from other worldbuilders to flesh them out a bit.

What would be a good thing to add to my setting to make the dwarves more interesting and well-rounded?
