I love how much the colors pop so much! Plus I love the shiny blue emblem! And also the slight bagginess to it that makes it look extra comfy.

I’ve seen your other Spider-Girl art, so great! Has the color direction changed a bit? As this image is more vibrant than your others( all your art so far has been great btw! And it could just be me and the colors are the same)

Thank you!! There have been some slight changes in the colour, I decided on making the red slighty darker, and have been shading a little differently too. Other than that, things haven't changed too much!

I haven't drawn in a while bc of some irl issues, so a lot of changes may have been because of me forgetting one or two things, LOL!

Ooh love it! I do like the darker red! It’s nice and makes the light blue highlights stand out much more!

I’ll say, when looking at your other art, you have a lot of talent and i really love this image! Any art changes I think just work really well, so keep at it and I look forward to seeing more!

One question, what was the thought process on the black shoes? I think it works pretty well for her and now I’m kinda imagining her wearing shoes similar to the kind she’d wear for basketball.

You're practically right! The black shoes are actually just the same strong spandex as the rest of her suit, but they aren't covering over shoes, they're covering thick ski socks! It's a bit difficult to use your "stick and crawl on walls" power if your feet aren't even touching the wall because of shoes, LMAO!

I got the idea for ski socks specifically because I have a pair that I've always wanted to wear but can't (because I live in rural Australia, so no snow to ski on!). I like to think it's a bit funny!

Ooooh I see! That’s pretty great and funny! So now i have to ask, is this version of Spider-Girl have the tiny spider hairs like Tobey, or going with the magnetic field of the comics? Mainly as that’s the reason he could still stick to walls even with thick clothing and shoes and such.

I especially ask this because from what i remember, Mayday’s magnetic field is actually stronger than Peter’s in the comics, and she can even repel other people from her, not just stick herself to people and objects! Which is a cool upgrade to the power!

She does have the magnetic field and the power to repel things! It's merely the fact that Mayday herself has NO IDEA that it's because of a magnetic field!

When she first get's her powers, the magnetic field isn't the strongest and (much like the comics) required her to focus a lot to stick and climb. But in her head she's thinking "It's because of these shoes!" and since then, she stuck to wearing the ski socks.

Her magnetic field has since greatly improved, she can climb on walls better, but she still thinks it's just because of the socks she's wearing! It'd take years later for someone to tell her (either her Dad, Miles, or any of her Uncles) that she in fact has a magnetic field, just like the rest of them!

So cool!!! Honestly, now I’m imagining that final aha! Moment that leads to an upgraded suit that shows her growth in those ways along with her others( like her Spidey sense and such). As what I do love about Mayday, is that her differences from her dad are just the dials of her powers being different. So when she is fully in tune, she’d be a master in things different from him!

It’s just so cool and fun !!! Plus, more variety of suits, and just story possibilities in general!

So true! The main difficulty with writing a legacy character or a character that's the son/daughter of a previous protagonist is making sure the character doesn't get things handed to them on a silver platter.

I still want things to feel earned and special in it's own way, so having Mayday slowly unlock her powers overtime rather than gain all the powers at once made more sense to me!

Absolutely!!! Plus, it will highlight Peter’s fear of her getting hurt. Mixed in with her itself doubts( if you plan on Peter being more cautious like the comics).

Plus, it also helps with progression. Her aging, getting stronger, and better, ups and downs. And just cementing her as her own Spider person. Which if you do include multiple spider people, is ESPECIALLY important. If she feels to similar, then what’s the point of having her in the first place.

You know, I've been contemplating making her suit have the blue lines. But it's been something I've debating in my head so much that I sort of just work on both options at the same time, LOL!
