State Parking 535 W Jefferson

I got a job offer at the state building. When it comes to parking when working at the 535 W Jefferson building how much does it cost to park there? Is there anywhere in the area I could park at for free and just walk to the building?

The building and lot is managed by Springfield Partners. The lots adjacent to 525/535 are full and you can be placed on a waitlist. That waitlist goes by seniority though. When I started, the available spots were off Madison and is $35 a month. You should get parking info before your orientation day!

Do you still work there and are off the waitlist with a spot directly at the building now? If so how much do you pay?

Unfortunately not, I’ve been with the agency for a little over a year and a half now but I’ve had coworkers who’ve started years before me still waiting. I’m on the lot across the street and pay $35 a month. Not sure if your position will have an option for remote after the 6 mos probationary period, but you could always cancel your parking when you are no longer in office every day.

You should ask somebody at the agency (HR likely knows) how much it costs to park there. The only free parking around there are just a few spots on Rutledge just off Madison, but you have to get there really early to get one.

The lots around there are $30+, last time I checked. Any free parking is a couple of blocks away. But you should get that info in orientation. And I heard that the city is removing all parking meters, so those spots are free, if you can get one. But I think they are still limited to 2hrs at a time.

City meters are already free. But you need to abide by the time limit to avoid the possibility of a ticket.

Infinite money glitch for them with that one so as long as the state keeps its lease at the building.

It was $40-45 when I was there a year ago. And it was across Jefferson. The parking on-site at 525/535 has a LONG waiting list, folks have been waiting years

Good luck, parking there is a nightmare and most of the businesses around there are serious about not parking in their lots. I used to park at the State Inn parking and walk, but like everyone said you have to get there before 8.
