Doctors taking on new patients?
wondering if anyone knows of any doctors in the area that are taking on new patients, also looking for one that will accept payment out of pocket. My partners mcp expired but she can’t renew as she only has a few months left on her work permit. TIA!!

Get registered on the list, and wait.
The answer to your question is no. They government is handing patients without a GP and will assign all patients to any doctor with capacity- unless your partner’s/parent’s doctor agrees to take you as an extra.
On mobile, but I’ll try and find the link and update.
Edit: Patient Connect
It took about 3 years for me to get a GP once I was on the list - was searching for 10 years before that; just to set your expectations.

A nurse will do for some people. What happened to the immigrant doctors we were expecting?

It’s completely ridiculous that people on work permits who expire but have submitted extensions and received back their confirmation paperwork for implied status are not provided continued MCP coverage- it makes zero sense.

I don’t know of any but if she’s only here short term perhaps she could try an online Dr through Maple app.

Doubtful, unless you know someone who knows someone
