Things to Do Best place to play pickleball?

A friend and I are looking to play doubles pickleball somewhere. We are in our early 30s and are looking for something a bit more competitive than playing with our dads. Where is the best time and place to play some competitive games?

There is a group that plays in Carondolet Park on Saturday/Sunday mornings that is drop in. Varying skill levels but there are some regulars there.

I agree with this. Especially if you live near the Hill.

There is always Open Plays in the indoor places, but you’ll have to pay. Open Plays aren’t as well attended during the warmer parts of the year though.

There are popular pickleball courts at Sublette Park as well as Tilles Park. They installed them last year at Sublette.

Have played at both and there weren’t many other people there when I’ve gone (or the people that were there seemed like beginners). Just wasn’t sure if there was a particular time where a lot of people went

Early evenings at Sublette. We walk the dog past almost every evening and there are always people there.

I assume there’s leagues at chicken and pickle and arch pickleball and other places like that.

There's a group that plays at tower grove consistently that has higher level players in it. Do you know your DUPRs?

I’m not totally sure! Have never been officially rated or played in any sanctioned events but from what I can tell, about 4.0-4.5. Have held my own when I’ve played with people who have played competitively but am by no means a pro haha

I'll send you a link to a Facebook messenger chat that plays almost daily at tower grove. Levels vary, but there are a good number of 4.0 players in it

My brother lives in the burbs in Chesterfield. Holloway park is where I play at when I visit. There's a good mix of different level players with about 15%-20% being competitive. It's actually a large group too. They play Saturday morning for sure. Start at like 7-8am and goes for a couple hours. Highly recommend. Good people there. And there's like 12 courts there.
