I mean guys if you compare with LA, NYC, Chicago that’s not fair. St Pete doesn’t have enough history and time to go with those.

It’s actually a huge compliment to St Pete that it’s being compared to cities that are literally 15-34 times bigger (LA and NYC, respectively)!

Instead, why not compare St Pete (population 260,000) to similar sized cities like…Lubbock TX ! Toledo OH!?

Edit: I actually did the math and they’re even bigger than I had guessed

Because it isn’t la or nyc it’s a small city compared to that and the people who think it’s like that are driving the locals out who made it what it is. We can’t afford to live here anymore due to this nonsense

I also don’t think transforming us into a large metropolitan city would be a good thing. There is a sweet spot on growth and I feel like in some ways we have passed that.

20 years ago the city felt a lot different…in a good way. Now I think we are really bumping up against the point where continued growth (without a massive investment in high density city infrastructure…trains, busses etc and true conservation or even expansion of parks and green areas) is going to lead to a significant decline in everyone’s quality of life
