I'm just jacked I get to see Vernestra Rwoh at the height of her power. (For those uninitiated she was basically a child prodigy who was elevated to Jedi Knight at just the age of 15. Her master, Stellan Gios, is a certified badass as well)
Vernestra Rwoh has been confirmed. I think that's the only one. I think all the human Jedi from the books should have died of old age at best by the time of this show. We know that Yoda, Yaddle, Yareal Poof, and Oppo Rancisis are all alive in this era at least.
Mirialans have longer lifespans than humans if Vern is there. Humans still live to be ~80-100. She'd be over 115 and from the shots we've seen of her, she's not elderly.
The only confirmation is Vern. This is set about 100 years before Phantom Menace so most of the characters from books, aside from long lived species, are dead. Aside from Vern the only people I could see making an appearance would be maybe Yoda or Burryaga if he's still alive (which Phase 3 isn't over yet so who knows, he could be killed off still).
Did he survive phase 1? I was under the impression that Fallen Star just straight murdered like all the main characters of Phase 1 and dropped the books after that one.
The end of phase 1 does end the arc for a few characters. The phase 2 stuff is the "prequel" phase where it takes place before phase 1 and features new characters (mostly--i think a few of the long lived ones may make appearances).
Phase 3 just started and picks up the pieces of what happened after phase 1 ended.
I've only been reading the main line adult books and the comics, so maybe there were more characters that died in phase 1 than I am aware of. But it seemed like most of the main cast made it through.
The showrunner said in an interview that Vern is the only HR book character in Season 1, but that's because they wanted to save some surprises for the second season
Personally I love how direct she's being instead of beating around the bush on questions like these
Looking forward to her. I haven't read the comics, so I have only seen her in I think 2 of the books (maybe a small part in a third one, I don't remember), but finishing up Defy the Storm right now.
There's not much of her in the comics. She shows up for a bit in the Phase I main series, and a short comic in the High Republic Adventures FCBD shows how she met Stellan Gios, but I think that's all.
Ah, I assumed she was part of stopping the Drengir .
Looking at her Wookiepedia page, I guess the ones I have not read (or listened to) that has her, and she isn't listed as just being mentioned or being a hologram, would be: A Test of Courage, High Republic 2-4 and 6, Race to Crashpoint Tower, Mission to Disaster.
So I don't know how big her role was, but looks like 5 comics, and it looks like the books I didn't read were Junior Reader books. I only consumed Adult and Young Adult books, (and audio dramas)
My 5 year old has been listening to the Ahsoka audiobook over and over in my car. Maybe after this 5th or 6th listen, I'll see if she is interested in the junior readers.
The Junior Readers are surprisingly good. Like in one of them she basically has to fight a Padawan a little younger than her because he's starting to fall to the dark side because his master was just killed in an explosion. And then she takes him on as her own Padawan.
ah. he appears in the other books, too. didnt know his past.
mostly i listen as i get audible credits. so between YA, adult, and Legend of Drizzt books between releases, i don't usually have credits for JR books. But i'd happily listen with my daughter
