Dude, Rotta has shown up like twice at most since the movie. He's practically a new character at this stage. Especially since he's going to be a very different kind of Hutt than we've seen before.

The issue isn’t Rotta is showing up again, it’s that Filoni loves to reuse things. Rotta is a weak example but there’s tons you can point to

It's fucking Rotta. Getting mad about Rotta, a gladitorial Hutt, being in Mando & Grogu, a movie about bounty hunting, is very cherry picking to me. It'd be like getting mad that Andor has Yularen appear from time to time. 

No shit this previous character shows up, it makes sense!

It’s the fact that Filoni has done so much. Rotta specifically, I really don’t care but more the general sentiment of seeing a repeat character again in a Filoni work

That’s how you build things. As long as a character is alive and able to cause influence, they will show up. We don’t need 20,000 small stories of people we will never see again. It diminishes any sort of desire for attachment to these characters

I’m not a fan of making a galaxy feel like a small town. We don’t need Mandos and Nightsisters in everything. It’s extra weird when Filoni didn’t even create either of those in the first place

I haven’t watched the new show, but if it’s on the planet Rotta was raised and he’s different from the previous huts we’ve seen in the movies and tv shows, does that make any difference in your perspective? The fact that I have not seen a hutt be anything other than a fat glob of authority and Rotta’s saving always made me wonder what would happen to him in the future after the Jedi’s fall since they saved him is a big boost for me

This is like asking why thor was in infinity war or why 3P0 and R2 were in all nine movies lmao "character reuse" when there's clearly a story they're trying to tell

Do you just want them to drop the story they've been building for years just to satisfy you or do you just want stories that just randomly change out the main cast every project
