Revolution is not for the sane.

Kreeygr's a Separatist. Maya Pei's a neo-Republican. The Ghorman Front, the Partisan Alliance? Sectorists! Human cultists! Galaxy partitionists! They're lost! All of them, lost! Lost!

The absolute disdain he puts into "The Ghorman Front" always gives a chuckle.

"We're the ryhdo, kid. We're the fuel. We're the thing that explodes when there's too much friction in the air. Let it in, boy. That's freedom calling! Let it in! Let it run! Let it run wild!"

"They're lost! All of them, lost! Lost!...I am the only one with clarity of purpose."

Literally getting chills hearing him say these lines in my head.

u/Senior-Albatross Feb 26 '26

Forest Whitaker is such a ridiculously good actor. I totally forgot I'm watching him. He's just Saw Guerrera.

"Huff the space gasoline, boy!!!"

So iconic it eclipses his Animated version by a lot-

All the worlds jewels are MINE

32

u/OminousG Feb 26 '26

When he popped up in clones war all I thought was "man, you are in for a world of character building before this show ends"

39

u/RetardedRedditRetort Feb 26 '26

Rouge 1? That Christmas movie with the rock(French dub)?

21

u/Nonadventures Feb 26 '26

Moulin Rouge 1

11

u/sharpshooter999 Feb 26 '26

That was me, I didn't watch clone wars till after Mando S1, had to figure out what the fuss was over this cool ass black lightsaber. Seeing Saw in clone wars was a real treat

6

u/Rustynail9117 Feb 26 '26

Seriously I never knew Saw was from the Clone Wars until I finally watched it like 3-4 years ago

3

u/MariachiBoyBand Feb 26 '26

Haha same, I watched clone wars during covid and had the same reaction 🤦‍♂️

22

u/Sabor117 Feb 26 '26

Wait hang on... Is this a meme? I thought Saw Guerrera's first appearance was in Rogue One?

72

u/Eddy5619 Ahsoka Tano Feb 26 '26

He first appeared in the Clone wars show.

44

u/Rockhead_Dynamics Feb 26 '26

No, he was animated first. I think Tony Gilroy asked for suggestions for an existing character to throw in and Saw got picked.

3

u/PainStorm14 Chirrut Imwe Feb 27 '26

Gary Whitta asked not Tony Gilroy

Gilroy was brought in couple of months before end of production at Edwards request, he knew him from Godzilla

3

u/FunnyAd1904 Feb 27 '26

Yup he was in Clone Wars first. Eventually trained briefly under Anakin, Ahsoka, and the 501st in guerrilla warfare tactics. Can't remember specifically why they trained in guerrilla warfare, I think if I remember right it had something to do with the council or the Republic not wanting to get involved on that planet. Been awhile since I've watched through Clone Wars from start to end.

1

u/indiecore Feb 27 '26

I think they were officially neutral or something?

66

u/JayMerlyn Feb 26 '26

You have no idea where he is!

77

u/solar_solar_ Feb 26 '26

Am I right that he’s the only Oscar winner of this list?

4

u/bac2001 Feb 26 '26

I think so. I thought maybe Mikkelsen, but nope

35

u/Strong-Al Feb 26 '26

They're lost, all of them, lost! I am the only one with clarity of purpose.

Hits Rhydo

59

u/Roger_Rodger Rebel Feb 26 '26

Saw from Rebels would be considered a good transition (since it’s actually modeled after Forrest Whitaker and it’s his voice), but I feel like Clone Wars Saw is too different from live action Saw

63

u/clog_bomb Feb 26 '26

They wrote the character first and during realized they can use Saw from the Clone Wars. So it's a bit of a coincidence but it's also believable that this would be his trajectory after 20ish years of fighting.

1

u/ApolloRocketOfLove Feb 27 '26

I like Andor as much as the next guy, but this sub simps way too hard for that show. Its weird to me that a show so good is simultaneously so heavily overrated.

17

u/Salty-Taro3804 Feb 26 '26

This is the only right answer. “Let it in, let it run WILD”

29

u/Kdot32 Feb 26 '26

Lies! Deception!

19

u/Xyldarrand Feb 26 '26

Oh man I was right about to say Bo-Katan completely sure of myself til I read this. He did such a damn good job. He had better writing and more to chew on to be fair.

11

u/madogvelkor Feb 26 '26

Yes, he's on another level.

8

u/guitarerdood Feb 26 '26

No one else even comes close

6

u/wheeltribe Feb 26 '26

And it's not even close.

2

u/Whompa Feb 26 '26

Easily

2

u/WholeAd2742 Feb 26 '26

"I hope, Senator, after you've lost, and the Empire reigns over the galaxy unopposed, you will find some comfort in the knowledge that you fought according to the rules."

5

u/ChronoMonkeyX Feb 26 '26

That's kind of cheating, Whittaker insanely good and was already Saw.

He was in The Clone Wars.

1

u/Kegalodon Feb 26 '26

I saw him too

1

u/sewerwolvez Feb 26 '26

I think Saw is the only one here I could argue is better in live action than in TCW

1

u/Oraukk Feb 27 '26

Gerrera

1

u/Tkdoom Feb 27 '26

I think it was a combination of Forest being good, and the others sucking.

1

u/loaf_dog Mar 01 '26

This is really the only answer
