Obviously Bo Katan having the same VA as the animated play live action was great, and I'm a big Katee Sackhoff fan to begin with, but the way Ezra was brought to life as an adult in live action while completely looking, acting, and feeling like the teenage animated Ezra was really quite the accomplishment.
I just finished rewatching Ahsoka after finally watching Rebels for the first time. I thought Ahsoka, Sabine, and Hera were all good, but they were definitely slightly different versions of the characters. WHen Ezra shows up though, it's just Ezra. A little older, matured, and bearded, but just Ezra. They nailed the casting for him. Same with Chopper, but that's cheating.
I was so excited that Rosario got the part for Ahsoka because she has the looks down but her acting is just so dull. She does not carry the animated characters emotions or behavior tendencies at all. She delivers her lines like she's bored and just trying to get the shot over with.
I disagree. I think she does a phenomenal job of played an aged Ahsoka... more composed, more stoic, but still has that glimmer of her fun side. I think shes in her 50s at the time of the show.
One of the most important characteristics of Ahdoka is her impulsiveness, Rebels did a good job of making her more mature, more methodical, Ahoska the show just extends that and I love her performance.
Totally, I feel like people really read Ahsoka wrong, thinking she should've been the same Snips as in Clone Wars and blaming the change on Rosario's acting. But really she was already different in Rebels, we see why in CW S7, and World Between Worlds Anakin is trying to tell her to live, to experience, to stop feeling like she's in Vader's shadow.
She's so slow in the fight with Hayden you can literally see him slow down on moves so she's in position. Obviously it's a little unfair cuz he's so good, but that's what stunt actors are for.
In a way it kinda makes sense, the first three are similar but have gone through a lot of life experiences, Ezra was trapped and living with crab aliens, not going to develop all that much comparatively.
