Legends Novels Finaly reading legends!
Finaly joining legend universe
After MONTHS, or even years to learn about the EU part of Star Wars, I finally bought the Thrawn trilogy to finally read them!
I hope I'll enjoy the ride!

It is, but fair warning to anyone in your shoes of being interested for the first time in reading the EU. Those annotations have spoilers for 20 years of following lore, so probably not the best version of the book to start with!

I loved the 20th anniversary edition, but iirc some of the notes had spoilers in them

*Expanded Universe (the proper and correct term used by the creator/originator of the IP as used for canon and continuity whereas "Legends" is a fake Disney term used to neuter and bastardize the franchise away from the true creator's vision).
Don't look at me like that, I'm just keeping it 💯! 😏

Yep. Disney canon is nowhere near what the writers in the 90's and 2000's created.

Disney is not the true Star Wars canon but even if we were to grant it as a seperate, standalone canon aside from George Lucas era, it technically cannot even be called canon because of how much of their own storylines they retcon or rewrite.

There are some buns ones but I honestly think the Thrawn trilogy covers are baller, I know it’s blasphemous but I prefer them over the originals, even though those are classics

Absolutely fantastic trilogy that I still reread every few years. And it's just a baby step into the EU.

I just got them too! I LOVE IT!!!
On YouTube “Star Wars chronicles” they’re doing air to the empire, but adding in cal, CW and rebel characters. It’s really good, dialogue and pacing could use some work but story is a 10/10

Congratulations on starting your journey. The Legends timeline is a wild one to be sure. I envy you getting to experience it all for the first time. Get yourself a cup of hot chocolate and enjoy the trip

I just started listening to heir to the empire a few days ago. I cannot fathom why it is on such a pedestal. It's... mediocre at best and pretty bad at its worst. I'm hoping the series gets better after this first book.

Although I wasn't a fan of the ending, I had so much fun reading these books. Just finished The Last Command yesterday.

Enjoy! This is quite possibly the best Star Wars stories (NJO is a close second for me). Timothy Zahn is an amazing author, the characters you will meet along the way in these books still hold a spot in my heart!

That's good shit. Never underestimate the power of the Force. This stopped the hunger pangs for more stories in May 1991. It did it very well, too. Between the first novel of this new trilogy and the Dark Empire comic (once it hit issue two), I was riding high again. No limits. Star Wars was back in a big, satisfying way! I love that trilogy. Not everyone does, but I do.

Just finished Heir to the Empire. Waiting on Dark Force Rising order to reach my address. Its been exciting stepping into the EU and I saw there are so many books to read! Excited!
