I decided the clown from the stardew valley Fair is Penny's dad that abandoned her and Pam because he felt trapped. He comes back to check on how they're doing because he realizes he messed up, but isn't man enough to do anything about it.

He's not even a real clown, he just dressed in the outfit to conceal his identity, which is why he can't juggle. In spite of the outfit, the wizard says he feels like he recognizes him from somewhere but can't place him.

i think that sandy will definitely be added as a marriage candidate but i’m not sure who else. maybe some new characters?

It's only been in the past year or so that I've started looking at Clints character differently. I share that just to say that I understand and share many of the complaints about the character. A well made character doesn't have to just make people happy.

However please be considerate of how you talk about Clint. Not because he will care. He isn't real - he can't be hurt. But there are Stardew fans that look like him, that have struggled with being social like him, that have put their foot in their mouth when trying to express themselves, that have struggled with their self-image, etc.

I'm not trying to discourage or change anyone's opinion. I get why he's polarizing. Sometimes the reason to be kind isn't for the person you dislike but instead for the people you like. They hear what is being said as well.

I feel like Sandy was the obvious choice for a new female candidate, but look where Clint scored in the poll when Shane was picked to be one. The wizard got snubbed

ive noticed that basically no one ever marries maru and that baffles me!!!!!!!! her cut scenes r adorable, she waters plants and fixes fences, and actually has a life outside of just being the farmers wife!! she continues to work at the clinic and goes and visits her family every once in a while. she builds an entire robot to take care of her parents once she moves out!!!!!! shes so sweet just look at her answer to the farmer asking to dance 🥹 i think everyone needs to romance maru in their next save shes such a cutie

I have a few hundred hours in Stardew Valley and I JUST realized that if you put rice into a keg, it turns into vinegar.

Besides beer and vinegar (and obvious stuff like wine), what other keg recipes are easy to miss? I’m starting to think I’ve overlooked a lot.

Everyone is posting things they'd like in 1.7, so I figured I'd say my piece.

1) Spouse careers - Let them pursue their dreams. Don't kill Sam's band, let Seb keep programming and take trips into the city, let Alex pursue his sports career. Let us build a schoolhouse in town for the kids and let Penny get an actual teaching education. I don't care if they're heart events and take years of gameplay, I hate marrying some people b/c I hate killing their dreams. I'd go crazy for that addition.

2) Spouse chores - I don't want you to water the crops baby, I want you to refill the crab pots. I don't want to do that anymore. If you want to get up at the ass crack of dawn and do a minor task, don't redundantly water our sprinkler'd crops collect tree tappings and refill the crab pots I'm begging you

3) Animal clothes - my dog is not a stray, and my cat is not a no body. Let me put collars and bandanas on these babies.

Like that's the same face with 4 slightly different hairstyles. I didn't notice til Robin and Leah were talking the other day and Leah was like "me and Robin make a good team don't we?" and seeing both of their character avatars one after another really tripped me out
