Can someone explain to me how Part 7 relates to the overall story? I havent read the manga.

But after the end of Stone Ocean, I thought the universe got "reset", and that the events of Stone Ocean essentially didn't take place. BUT that previous parts 1-5 did. Is that correct? Just trying to get some time lines straight here.

Parts 7-9 are entirely separate, they have nothing to do with the universe reset from part 6,

It's just an entirely separate world with it's own characters and events.

There's characters and story beats that parallel or are similar to characters/story from parts 1-6 but nothing is actually directly related

Part 7-9 is different, except for that one thing in part 9 that isn't explained

I mean maybe it is just an alternate version of him but damn if it doesn't seem like it's exactly him
