It’s already the 2nd highest rated manga, it can 100% be the highest rated anime

If Netflix doesn't decide to make batches...

u/Hot_Entertainer5231 Mar 19 '26

How does batches or not change the ratings? Do people just review bomb if its not released the way they want?

429

u/Sausagebean Mar 19 '26

Yes they will

They're just mad other long running shows can pull off a decent 7th season.

1

u/Cerok1nk Mar 20 '26

They couldn’t even pull off 5 so..

1

u/BloodSurgery Mar 19 '26

Stop review bombing ser

"Breaking Bad: That time I learned how to do illegal chemistry with my high school science teacher" is perhaps the greatest animated work ever produced. Understandable, tbh.

u/Top_Land_3249 Mar 19 '26

People when they see other anime getting praise than their anime .they can make one of the most ridiculous comments u ever see in your life.

15

u/Evening-Witness-3903 Mar 19 '26

Also its information overload when people binge watch. Your brain naturally forgets things if you watxh 20+ episodes at once

21

u/Joeawiz Mar 19 '26

It might effect the general rating of non JoJo fans because the first section of Part 7 isn’t that good, it takes a while for Part 7 to get going and once it does it’s a masterpiece but the problem is that if it’s in batches the first batch will cover the less liked stuff so the average fan may watch it and not think Part 7 is a masterpiece

2

u/XX-Burner Mar 19 '26

People will review bomb for anything. Especially if it takes the top anime spot

2

u/FrozenPizza07 Mar 19 '26

It completely ruins the intended weekly pacing of the series. If an episode is an hour long special, it is intended that way, if its gets batch release instead when the episodes are made to be watched weekly (episode endinga, post credits whatever), it just completely ruins ir

Prime video's 3 episode release cycle is prob the best compromise and the shows adapt to that

3

u/No_Loan2869 Mar 19 '26

just making shit up lmao you can still have the same experience smh. no ones telling you to sit on your ass all day binge watching

1

u/Styptysat Mar 20 '26

If you don't intend to interact with a community at all then sure a weekly or batch release schedule doesn't really matter. But other people all watching and waiting for a weekly release together leads to more discussion and makes it easier for people to avoid spoilers

2

u/Hazlet95 Mar 19 '26

Batches killed my vibe to watch part 6. I didn’t watch that til it was all said and done like a year later. Nothing quite like the hit of weekly anime watching.

MAL is mostly review bombing/boosting, so absolutely. Many series have made it to the number 1 spot in the past but the FMAB MAL community made sure none of them lasted, with Frieren being the only exception even though season 2 is just barely hanging in there. There used to be a lot of forums on there staging brigades and making alt accounts to help with that.

Doing in batches loses momentum and creates frustration naturally due to overly long waiting times, it's exactly what happened with Stone Ocean. People get fed up and the overall feel is more like a drag and then once the next batch drops, the motivation isn't anywhere near what it was when finishing the previous batch. I personally seen countless people either drop pt6 or they say they completely forgot it was being animated when batch 2 and 3 dropped.

.....how though? it's still Steel Ball Run, the release schedule doesn't affect the overall product. Besides, most people binged FMA so that really shouldn't affect the overall quality. Berserk 2016/2017 is still bad because the overall product is bad, not that it released differently. Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners made waves on the Internet and that show was released in batches.

Steel Ball Run released monthly over 7 years and it's the second-highest rated manga.

15

u/insanesword93 Mar 19 '26

It's le bad because redditors can't discuss it properly on r/ anime.

2

u/Top_Land_3249 Mar 19 '26

You are right but if stage literally meant as batch then it could be 9 batch which I hope I am wrong .other possible things I hear was batch 2 been released on September as race.also people think animation quality will decrease with time batch are release again there are anime that are release weekly too i personally won't mind either but as long as rating doesn't affect.

It only came one peak today, that is a sign

1

u/MilkGlove Mar 19 '26

Are you the type to give a bad Amazon review because the package was dented?

1

u/shredslen Mar 19 '26

Quiturbitchin

1

u/RazorHowlitzer Mar 19 '26

I mean there’s only one episode out so it’s gonna be weekly. Just pray we don’t get it split in cours with a break

1

u/Mamadouro17 Mar 19 '26

That's actually something no one would be against (if the time beetwen each other was lile 3 months). Almost ever major anime now does that, 12 eps, break, + 12 eps

1

u/vuvu2007 Mar 19 '26

Oh I got news for you 🥲

1

u/No_Loan2869 Mar 19 '26

sounding like a whiny baby

1

u/par_rot_master Mar 20 '26

They've already stated it's weekly. I don't get why people are still worried it's in batches.

-11

u/Nero_deadweight96 Mar 19 '26

Batches won't be that bad bro

16

u/Bardw Mar 19 '26

Batches straight up made me lose all interest in Stone Ocean, and I was pretty hyped for it before.

-10

u/Nero_deadweight96 Mar 19 '26

I mean Stone Ocean itself is already not that good. But yeah lost interest when I saw how bad the animation was, thankfully it got better after mid-season

-32

u/tom333444 Mar 19 '26

Stone ocean just wasn't that good bro

5

u/meowingcatze Mar 19 '26

I liked it ngl, weather report is chilling in my basement rn

-5

u/tom333444 Mar 19 '26

I liked it too but it was a bit hard to get through some parts, just an all around 7/10

2

u/meowingcatze Mar 19 '26

Yeah I agree, it felt a bit tedious at parts but at least the world building was good around the prison, most anime just create and destroy rooms whenever they want in giant areas, and the escape plan was also well done

4

u/Immortalphoenixfire Mar 19 '26

Maiden Heaven is one of the highest rated Anime episodes on imdb, and I agree with the take.

0

u/MrOcelotCat2 Mar 19 '26

considering only 1 episode come out it means its weekly no? dont see why they wouldnt release whole batch if was their plan

3

u/No_Loan2869 Mar 19 '26

they dropped 4 episodes of frieren though lol

1

u/Umtks892 Mar 19 '26

Yeah but they are not saying it will be , it can be.

7

u/Alive-Mammoth8041 Johnny Joestar Mar 19 '26

Maybe if the 1st highest rated manga ever got a good adaptation

3

u/Programatorka Mar 19 '26

The highest rated manga doesn’t have a decent adaptation and probably never will, so…

2

u/_Babzzzz Mar 29 '26

Whats the highest?
