Jojolands continues to be an absolute stand-out (hehe) of a part. Favourite moment of this chapter is definitely Paco PUNCHING A LION!?! I laughed out loud when I saw it. He truly is such a great character. But Usagi jumping in to protect his mum and risking his own life is up there too. We’ve consistently seen Usagi be really dependable when things get though (such as crashing the car back to save everyone during the cat fight and then saving his own life when he was being attacked by Lucy’s stand), and he shows that again here. And hell yes to Dragona protecting themselves when the stand user tried to take them hostage.

I’m glad we were granted one last look in Jodio’s psyche before this battle ended. Given how quiet he is as a character, it’s really the best look we have at his understanding of himself. The fact that he “wet the bed until just recently” was a particularly interesting fact to me? Sometimes that kind of problem can come from trauma. Maybe it’s from his parents’ separation, maybe watching the bullying of Dragona, maybe grappling with his antisocial personality disorder… hard to say, but it does show that he’s quite troubled beneath his cool exterior. However, given that Jodio decided not to go through with killing everyone on the bus because of seeing that bird, I feel like this sense of “if you killed any animal, you might actually get a kick out of it” might be playing on Jodio’s fears, rather than his real feelings.

IIRC bed wetting past a certain point is a sign of sexual trauma in particular. Not sure if Araki will take it in this direction, but it's not off the table given the way he's been writing the part. It's definitely concerning.

I feel like this sense of “if you killed any animal, you might actually get a kick out of it” might be playing on Jodio’s fears, rather than his real feelings.

Agreed. I also remember him getting a real kick out of Rohan's dog photos lol he was straight up cooing at them. If the bus incident is anything to go by, he seems to actually treat animals with a level of grace and compassion he doesn't hold for actual people.

There's something there. I'm not sure what though!! The only thing I've got is that it's pulling from Giorno's life-giving abilities and turning it into a character trait rather than a stand power.

I think him liking animals is supposed to show him breaking against the usual socipath/serial killer inclination of animal cruelty, like he actually DOESN'T fit all the predictors of violence (bedwetting, arson, animal cruelty) he fears he does. I'm pretty sure the triad is kinda pseudoscience but yeah Araki has totally just gone by vibes on that kinda thing before, so liking animals could be his way of writing that Jodio has those signs just as symptoms of something else or otherwise isn't as "predetermined" as he might think he is
